Re: Zesty Nimble extruder technical thread

Glad to hear about it again after some (explained) period of silence! I assume that the price-up of 12% at the same day as this nice review is a coincidence? ;-) I am really struggling with stringing and I do not seem to get it right. So might be my next bigger upgrade. Do I understand correctly tha...

Re: PEI Print Surface How To - recap

I think most of us print PLA around 60C and ABS around 90C. Important is to give your bed time to even out temp, and let the surface reach the set temp (PEI is an insulator!). So do not start too quickly after starting the heater.

Re: PEI disaster

I wrote before about pulling a bulge in my PEI surface. The stupid thing is that the bulge is moving around! That indicates that there is still (after about 3 months of use!) moist in the 3M glue liner. I think it is REALLY not the best glue for the job... Anyone any luck searching for heat resistan...

Well, it could be (a bit) quicker as well as more consistent than the paper-drag method, and more easy to perform before each print. But you're right, it doesn't add much until you get a Duet.

Re: New RepRapFirmware 1.18 released today

Faster and easier-to-use auto tune algorithm with more consistent dead time measurement I upgraded to 1.18.1 yesterday and tried the new autotune feature. I am really impressed! Never had much luck with autotune, on rambo nor on Duet, but this time DC42 nailed it! Despite having a non-standard bed ...

Re: FSR setup guide

The issue is the firmware support to actually use the probing data to calculate delta calibration parameters - aka autocalibration Yes, but I guess the question really is: can Rambo / repetier actually automatically set a correct Z-height (Z=0 with the nozzle touching the bed) with the help of FSR'...

Re: FSR setup guide

I have been upgrading to FSR while still using Rambo myself. Although it worked (the probing itself) I found that it does not help a lot since Rambo does not do any calibration. In the meantime someone thought-up a plugin for Octoprint, but instead of going that route I bought an older Duet 0.6 boar...

At the same time seems improbable, but on different hotends you want to be able to swap out that does not seem improbable at all.

Re: Rostock V2 warping print

No, the idea of slurry is to put an even thin layer on your bed. Just a few small parts in a jar with some acetone does it. It needs to stay watery liquid. When it dries out, it forms a layer of superglue for abs prints. It worked for me only after having sanded the glass bed a bit with fine grain p...

Re: Heightmapping fun... NOT!

It happens sometimes: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=11316#p101555 MHackney's theory is that if the probe points are directly across from the FSR mounts, it can make it teeter or something which causes crazy results. If you look at that thread, he describes his new mounting sys...

Re: Heightmapping fun... NOT!

Thanks DC, You probably have read on the reprap forum that the update to 1.18RC1 looks to give plausible results indeed. Will have to rerun a few hot calibrations as wel to be really sure. It was too late yesterday so I will do that tonight. Do I need to change anything in my config.g to enable the ...

Heightmapping fun... NOT!

For the first time I wanted to try the height-mapping feature because I updated to the 1.17e DC42 firmware with the 1.14a GUI and the show heightmap button got me curious. I repeatedly get these kind of crazy maps though: HeightMap.png Really not fun and I guess that makes my printer unusable if tur...

Re: Rostock V2 warping print

Ideas are there a lot: - use PEI for a bed (or ABS slurry) - up the bed temp - lower the print temp as much as possible - choose a different filament - built an enclosure I guess it will always be hard to counter ABS warping issues. I tried all but the last idea. Next will be an enclosure. But I am ...

I have this crydom SSR and use 15Hz frequency (standard in Duet). I nevee heard it make any noise though. Someth...

I am not too familiar with MC, but could there be an option somewhere to use firmware temp instead of the temp set in the material parameters? Check if that 80C is a firmware preset.

I got my Crydom through Ebay, but I would not do that again. I have absolutely no problem with my SSR, but reading these forums there are a lot of examples where fake items were being received.
