Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
Nylocke is correct. No LEDs are covered up, they just happen to fit perfectly within the frame. Nice! that is a neat way to mount the light ring... I did not realize the LED's would fit like that. Re: Horizontal Radius missing in EEPROM
I think you have to send the "Clear EEPROM" sketch from Arduino THEN reflash firmware to get it to work.
It is in the example sketches
This drove me nuts until I figured out what was going on.
And has tripped me up a few times since, if I forget this step.

Re: Duet with 24V
A couple of points: 1. IMO there are two main advantages of using 24V power instead of 12V, which may or may not be relevant to your machine: - You can have double the bed heating power before you need to use an SSR - You can get higher speed from the motors. This is especially relevant when using ...

Re: USB Type-C Print Head Connection
Interesting concept. I like the idea of a simple clean plug in wiring to hot end.
Have you seen this ?

It has one 12 pin connector for everything. Pretty nice.

You could also use Repetier host instead of Matter Control.
Cura and Slic3r are built in.
Yes, you can do a raft with either.

Mounting the printer in a large gimble is something I have been thinking about building for quite a while. ....gimble would also have stepper motors and read same gcode simultaneously to tip printer in optimal direction on the fly. My Maker buddies think I am crazy and think it won't help anyways. T...

May have already been discussed somewhere, why not run a script on gcode that deletes duplicate lines, or within a specific tolerance?

I'm going to try to keep answers to people to a minimum from now on, I don't mean to hijack 626Pilot's thread, I just wanted to make sure some of the misconceptions about this issues were answered. It doesn't seem like a hijack to me. According to what I've read (but not verified, to be fair), Simp...

Re: Trick Laser Aluminum spreader having the opposite effect
So it just came in the mail yesterday - pulled off the glass and cleaned it, put the heat spreader on the HBP and clamped the it down with the glass on top. To my utter surprise it's actually taking MORE time to heat up..... With a goal of 100c, it's taken about 10min to go from 80c to 85c. I live ...

Re: trying to mount trick trucks
Do you have a pattern for a spacer to mount the ball & cup arms to the trick trucks? Ideally something where I can use those nice end stop thumbscrews you sell. :) If not, no biggie, I'm sure I can put something together in openSCAD. Thanks! This! It shouldn't be too terribly difficult to draw ...

You have 20 tooth pulleys.
It has been since the early v1 days that kits used smaller size.

I designed the MAX METAL Frame to re-use most everything from the Rostock MAX machine, basically a replacement of the wobbly imprecise wood frame. Other than needing to print a few brackets. Re: TridPrinting balljoint arms
I use regular nuts on outside, never had any problem.
You could used nylocks if you want.
They can be a bit of a pain getting position right because rod wants to turn when tightening nut, that the only reason I don't use them on outside.

The teddy bear print had a really neat texture. It looked almost soft, until you picked it up. I wonder what software was used to make that bear print (sorry, no link). Meshmixer would work, but you would need to manually "stamp" the surface of model with pattern. I am sure there is a bet...

Re: Mounting hot end below the effector plate?
Only "negative" is loss of Z height. No, you don't need to change any firmware settings other than setting your new Z0. Actually I prefer under mount, it is easier to see print in progress and I have found hot end runs cooler and more reliable. Several of my printers are setup this way. On...
