Re: 3d printing is bad for your health?

Would encasing the printer and running a vaccumcleaner hose with a fan to the outside cause too much thermal havoc during the print?

Us poor people who live in dense cities do not have garages or extra rooms. So it will end up hidden somewhere.

I am thinking maybe a closet in the bathroom.

Re: Printing with Line trimmer

I have started fantasizin about printing in nylon.

Just had a look at the E3D site. They seem to have a v6 out for their hot end. I also saw the kraken multi head extruder. Would that be able to do the job? Or would it complicate life too much?

So is it more the overall chamber temperature combined with the bed temperature that does the trick?

Re: Wire length of a 1kg PLa spool

You can get the mm from the cm^3. 1.75 mm = 0.175cm. (0.175/2)^2 × pi is the surface area of your filament. Divide the cm^3 number you have with what you just calculated and you have the necessary filament in cm. As for exactly how many meters of filament you buy... the only way to get an exact numb...

Thank you very much.

So. Could the OP have realized that the filament had finished and added some?

How about a sensor for that?

Apparenty quite a few people have bought this pan for 3d printers.

Amazon recommends that I buy some of those brass hose fittings along with it.

Dismantling and poxying noise cancelling earphones on to the top part would be another option :D

What about bolting the whole assembly to the wall? :geek:

Re: What extras to get with a Max v2

For tower rigidity, you could try placing a few kilos of lead diving weights on the top of the towers. Get it nice and heavy. It would dampen some of the oscillations.

Solder would be a good option. A bit expensive, and it could melt your part, but you would be filling it with a metal.

Re: Who would be interested in tig welded magnetic ball join

I would be interested if they were in the form of a kit so i do not have go parts hunting. Also, if you are welding on to the magnets, be careful. Magnets can lose their properties when heated up. What i recommend (or what i do when i am soldering wire on to magnets) is attache the magnet to be weld...

Hello from Turkey

Hello,

I am living in Istanbul and I am about to pull the trigger on a Rostock Max v2. I will get my printer over here and assembled in mid July.

The new toy will mostly be used for my random projects and teaching my students technical drawing.

What extras to get with a Max v2

What extras do you recommend purchasing with a Rostock Max v2? I am about to pull the trigger on one of these and live far far away. I will have some one transport it over in a suitcase, so getting extra goodies at a later date will be slightly problematic for me. What do you recommend? Extra hot en...
