Re: A problem with extruder motor
If i understood correctly , that is called a retract. (Suck the filament back in so that it does not drip on to your print while moving). It is a setting that you can change. On the ticking, that usually means that your extruder motor skipped a step. Which happens when it is too difficult to push th...

Or vinyl wrap the non important parts. You can go pretty crazy with that stuff. Carbon fiber look?
Also, no harm in asking Brian. Maybe he'll say sure why not, or with the next order in6 months or simply no.

Re: Anyone here try inverted printing?
There was a 6 axis 3d printer that had almost the same effect of what you describe.
I am a bit doubtfull that it will work as you hope. But give it a try. And for all we know next year this time it could be the next big mod to our printers.

I wonder if the resin is proprietary or I can find a resin for it.

Re: Liquid mixing apparatus
I had my students do a plant waterin system with arduinos last year. The system had to read the moisture in the soil, and monitor the water level in the reservoir. And the cheapo arduino ultrasonic sensors (double barrel) did not work when placed on top of a 20L water container. Had to cut a hole in...

What i am looking for is to how high the extrusion is, i.e. Is it really 0.4mm. And is it uniform accross your whole first layer.

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print
Mmm. Well I have the first laer set at 0.4mm, then 0.25mm after that. Thing is, it doesn't always do it all the time. Not sure why the filament is different thicknesses either. The bed calibration shows it equal over the whole bed. If that is the case your calibration is wayy off. That 1st layer is...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print
It seems that on the far side of the picture you are pressing too deeply in to the bed. I.e. the Z height is too low over there. Because of this, the molten filament does not exit the nozzle and the filament in the bowden tube acts like a spring. WHen the pressure is released (gap between nozzle and...

For this application you really do not need realtime. The operations are not that fast. Therefor I would HIGHLY recommend that you start with an arduino. They have a small screen + arduino controller for 7 bucks on aliexpress. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-LCD-Keypad-Shield-LCD1602-LC...

Nice looking unit you have built.
Congratulations.
But it looks like they are not entirely enclosure compatible.
Do post the stls if some one else wants to replicate your modifications/upgrades.
