Re: Dinosaurs Build a Rostock Max V2 in Alaska

Heh, years, and I mean YEARS ago at the UAF downtown center, one of my friends sent a 1 inch spark to his titanium powerbook. The discharge shut it off! It powered back up just fine though. Don't know why, but they thought it would be a good idea to have plastic seated chairs in the computer lab. Wo...

Re: Weird travel movement

Nope, nothing is printing there, it's just a weird travel move to the other tower. Just not sure why it's stuttering like that. Or why it doesn't just jump back to the other tower like it does the other way. It finished printing alright, just had to clean those strings off. Really weird. Here's the ...

Re: HE280 question

Turns out, the hotend is very susceptible to the part fans. I'm using the same effector as my e3d which has 3 built in axial fans. I think the new hotend sticks down farther than the e3d did, so it's right in the path of the cooling air. Watching the temperature graph, when the fans kicked on, it wo...

Seems to be dieing off around the same place. Printed from the pc and from sd card, so not the connection between. Getting DEF for both temps. I've resliced it with each version, so I don't think it's the gcode.

Re: HE280 question

I can reset the printer and it will work again though. I printed the whip clip Steve posted on repables just to make sure it wasn't a temp disconnect with the wires. It printed just fine. I tried printing the part that it errored out on, and it did it again, at layer 8 of 23. Could it be those janky...

Re: High Pitched Sound from Rambo?

My access points buzz when there's a lot of traffic running over them. There's no moving parts in them. Some electronics are just weird.

Re: HE280 question

Yea, I think it was the bowden. I have a flying extruder, and the bowden I had with the E3d before was probably an inch too short, so it was pulling on the hot end. I cut a new piece and installed it after I got the clog out. I even used Andy's trick of unscrewing the bowden connector a couple turns...

Re: HE280 question

Swapped out the fan with one of the others. Still whistles, but it's not vibrating, I can handle that. With the door of the enclosure closed it's not too bad.

HE280 question

Got home from MRRF Sunday this morning at 1:30-sh am. Woke up and upgraded my Max's hot end. It's all wired up and seems to be working, but is the hot end fan supposed to run all the time?

Not really. I took the dxf files for the printer and cut along the outside of the base for the hole. Then I just cut is square to fit the enclosure I already had.

Re: Can''t find spares

Originals were .5, at least mine was. It's currently encased in pla, so I can't check to be sure. My replacement e3d is .4. Going bigger and you can lose some of the fine detail in the x-y direction, going smaller gives you more detail capabilities, but increases print time.

Some coolant isn't nice to sunglasses either. Walked through a machine shop to work on a computer and this happened.

Re: Need Help | Print Messing Up

What slicer are you using? Some of them have the ability to change print speed after a set number of base layers are printed, sounds like what's happening to you.
