Re: Canada Team
Simplify 3D works well. It's easy to figure out, slices very quickly and the user interface is simple. Sure some people trash it but when it comes down to ease of use it just works.

Under extrusion. In those rough looking spots the amount of plastic coming out of the hotend is momentarily reduced. Could be a blockage or extruder issue.

Re: The Prometheus System - Intuitive Multi-Filament 3D Printing!
@ Eric. Would have been nice if your system worked with S3D from the beginning as advertised. Still not sure how you could promise compatibility with S3d on the Kickstarter campaign. I guess the campaign would have failed had you told the truth.

Re: PLA woes (stringing)
Judging from the photo I would say you are over-extruding. That means your extruder is forcing too much plastic through the nozzle so yes it will string like crazy with PLA. Pull the bowden tube out of the hotend. Trim off the pla filament flush with the end of the loose bowden tube and advance 100 ...

Re: A question of smell
My hypothesis is the Prometheus stinks. But really, the only thing that could cause a smell is melt temperature OR the length of the melt zone and it's ability to outgas to the atmosphere. I suspect that even though you measured the same temp, it probably isn't. What kind of probe are you using? Yo...

A question of smell
OK, here is something that eludes me. I have 2 printers running the exact same roll of ABS (not at the same time). My smaller printer with a cheap but super reliable MK8 direct drive extruder/Hotend sits at my desk and has almost no ABS smell while printing @235C. It's barely noticeable. My second l...

You should check the reset button isn't partial pressed. both on the board and the lcd panel. It has fooled more than few people as simple stuff often does.

Design and build your own! I had a blast building the ones I've done. Parts are easy to get and lots of free CAD programs (Fusion 360) to learn. You have the Max to make your build parts. Visit http://openbuilds.com/ to get lots of ideas.

A problem with either thermistor will cause a "def" fault. Usually a poor connection somewhere.

Re: How/where to sell
I think 3D printers are too hard to sell. Maybe try to sell the Rambo and steppers on eBay and recycle the rest. No, they're only hard to sell if you want a large chunk of your investment back. If he were to price the whole thing at the value of the rambo and steppers, someone would snap it up very...

Re: Orion will not home
You could reset the z height in the eeprom( it's probably showing a weird number) to approximately the right value and the go ahead and then calibrate the z height normally. Isn't that what the LCD Menu "Set Z Height" does? I tried that a few times to no avail. Sorry, forgot to mention th...

Can you export your design spark model to .step or format? It would easily open in fusion 360.
