Re: Which Thermocouple to buy ?
Using a thermocouple will require modifying the firmware and wiring. I've done this on a pre-V3. Basically you have the thermocouple, which has a 'polarity' and must be wired the right direction, it goes to a signal amplifier board, and then you connect power ground and signal wires from the amp to ...

Does that dip in temp between 21-26 minutes correspond with when your cooling fans came on?

That is a pretty good deal, nice! I know a lot of people who paid the "normal" price.

Re: Water cooling questions
Nozzle apertures at or below .2 mm Work with materials such as PEEK, PEI, or other engineering plastic filaments, where the cost of a failed print is high, and post processing the exterior is insufficient remediation. Can you expand on those? Why does water cooling aide smaller nozzles or improve p...

Re: Water cooling questions
It's a lot of cost (like you mention) and an increase in parts count and complexity to address an issue that very few people actually have. Air cooling works just fine except in heated chambers or at super high printing temps. Plus, the cooling block and plumbing (and the coolant) would add inertia ...

Re: Fuse keeps blowing
It's hard to fix the issue if you don't know which wires are which. Figure that out, and what's going on will likely surface. The hotend fan runs all the time, so trouble with those leads could cause a short instantly without having to turn on fans or heaters... Seems like a good place to start trac...

Re: Formlabs form 2 prints for members
Hey Justin!
I've got a handful of other resin printers, and know a few people with a collection for testing, so I might have you make some test/calibration pieces to compare and contrast them sometime.
This is the hot model, at the moment. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1219068

How are you measuring your humidity level? Are you measuring the air around the filament, or the filament itself?

Mark the glass, and index it around. Does it follow the glass or the machine?
Rotate your XYZ motors and endstops all over 1 position (YZX instead of XYZ if that makes sense) and see if it follows the mechanics or the electronics.

Re: Ferrite Beads Yes or No
In somewhat related topics... Don't tin any wires that aren't explicitly solder connections. Crimping pins on to tinned wires will lead to failure, and so will putting tinned leads into screw terminals. All of those connection types rely on compression and copper's malleability, which isn't the same...

I believe that the RepRap firmware for the Duet board (and a few others) is on the right track.

I designed the original part (this is a remix for the ball-socket arms) and have been using an ABS one for a long-long time. I've never seen melting and burning like this on mine. What temps were you printing at?

Making custom colors on demand seems appealing instead of keeping a spool of every color on hand.
Also, buying plastic for $1 per pound is a nice prospect.

Practically stole a NozTek Pro and Winder - New to filament extrusion.
I've done business with Tim for a long time and have always had my eye on a filastruder kit, but I got a coincidental offer from a friend that I couldn't refuse. My buddy owns an engineering company that was contracted to make an experimental filament that paid for the extruder many times over, and ...

Re: Done buying Hatchbox
I've printed dozens of rolls of HatchBox, and I've only had "chemistry" or mixture issues. I've rejected a couple of parts due to color and pigmentation inconsistencies, and I had one freak occurrence where the nozzle seemed like it was backed up, so I fed it by hand to spit out a glob and...
