Re: Budaschnozzle Mount For the Rostock Max
Just ordered a Budaschnozzle 2. Looking forward to trying this out. Where did you get threaded 6-32 spacers?

Re: Need For A "Default Setup"
30 hours of calibration? Horsepucky. g. Did you know there's a musician who thinks that anyone can sit down in front of a piano for the first time, and just start playing, and that the necessity of learning to play it is entirely an illusion? I've never done anything remotely like building and cali...

Re: Carbon Fiber arms from Trick Laser
626pilot. If you heat the ends slowly and carefully you should be able to un-bond the ends and try again. Go slow with pliers to pull the end apart as hyou slowly heat the end. If using a super glue if you use too little it will set faster and not have enough time to assemble. The more you apply ev...

Re: Trick Laser hot end progress
When's this gonna be ready? I'm stuck using the stock hotend for PLA, hot-ends.com is out of stock, and I am dying to get this thing actually printing.

Re: Need For A "Default Setup"
If I had it to do over again, I would have just bought it pre-assembled, and pre-CALIBRATED. There are one or two people who do that. The build is difficult and extremely time-consuming, and when you're all done with that, you say to yourself, "Hooray! Now I can actually use this thing." N...

The E3D hotend looks nice. What do you need to assemble it?

Re: Carbon Fiber arms from Trick Laser
Well, they got here and I have to say it's trivially easy to ruin the kit before it's even built. Take my advice - don't build it yourself. Buy it assembled. It's only $20 extra, and it will be built by someone who knows exactly how it's supposed to go together, and has extra parts on hand in case a...

Re: how do we do the connections for the stepper motors?
I used needle nose pliers to pinch the first jaws around the wire rubber, and the second jaws around the exposed wire. I had to make adjustments sometimes to get the crimped connectors into the housings, and I think I ruined about 40% of the things in the process of learning. I really think SeeMeCNC...

Re: What needs improvement the most?
I've always wanted to see color printing for the Rostock and other DIY 3D printers. I did some research, and there is a guy who's done some experimenting with mixing two colors at different ratios in one hot-end (it has two input ports and he has a small motor mix the plastic inside the head.) The r...

Re: What needs improvement the most?
How can this be? It makes no sense. Threads don't change pitch. They don't, but the screw threads "eat" into the plastic, and the plastic will flex and compress etc. as the screw is moved within it. I have observed this several times during calibration - turn the screw, observe that the h...

Re: What needs improvement the most?
There are a lot of easy things that could be done to make the build easier. The docs are written by people who work with this stuff every day, and can be a bit daunting for people who are either out of practice or just never worked on something like this before. Hardware There are holes suitable for...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO
the EEPROM enabled value in configuration.h is used as a sort of version number, so the first time it's loaded it should have wiped it. You can always just increase the value and download again. Interesting. When I do something that stores data in EEPROM I usually write the first two bytes to unlik...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO
Having a weird issue with EEPROM. When I flash the RAMBo (version 1.0) with Repetier, I get gibberish on the terminal, as though the baud rate is wrong. I tried 115200, 28800, 14400, and 9600 in Configuration.h. Nothing worked, until I disabled the EEPROM. THEN it opened the port at 115200. I think ...
