Re: Rostock Max --Hotend Jams

There should be a piece of teflon tube in there. It should be around 1-3/4" to 1=7/8" long.

Re: bed temperature

Does it seem to take the bed longer to heat up also? I would check the terminals on the RamBO board, check that the screws are tight, as the connection can loosen over time with the repeated heat cycles.

I assume it still holds true with the Duet,,,,, Don't plug, or unplug the motor wires while the board is powered up.

Re: Dual extrusion feed kits V3/V4

Yes, you can set the steps per millimeter at a different value for the extruder motor, that's how you would do the initial setup for extrusion rate. 80 is a starting point, but may have to be fine tuned depending upon the drive gear, etc.

Re: printer continues in "dry run" after hardware failure notice

What printer do you have? and what hotend is on it? If it's the old hotend, one of the resistors may be burnt out.

Re: v3.2 Stepper Motor upgrade?

But wait, let's get this straight as I'm shortly modding my V3s to DUET boards, quote: When I updated my v3 to 3.2, I didn't change the motors . It's not a requirement, just a "nice to have". Keep in mind that if you don't change the stepper motors, you'll need to tweak the config.g file ...

Re: Need a Free SOLIDWORKS Trial?

In my library of CAM, I have SheetCAM, MeshCAM, and V-Carve. The CAM portion of Fusion360 really kicks it up several notches with the tool libraries, and the adaptive machining. Watching it rough out a pocket in aluminum, using a 1/4" endmill, with a depth of cut set at 1/4" is amazing. I ...

Re: Need a Free SOLIDWORKS Trial?

i use Solidworks at work, but I have my own subscription of Fusion 360. I can't see see spending $4,000.00 for solidworks, when I get way more out of Fusion 360 for only $310.00 a year.

Re: PEI print bed surface experiments

The 3M tape that came with my PEI works really well, although I did have it fail when I had it roughed up to much and printed to close with PLA. Nothing is fool proof.

Re: I'm back and wanting to upgrade

When using the Duet board, you would not need sound dampening,,,,, nor would you want to anyways since it would effect the print. You would set the Duet drivers to run in Interpolated mode, which makes them quieter. Also, I just checked, the Duet 2 will run G02 and G03 codes,,,, it would be up to th...

Re: SE 300 Hot End Leaking (PLA)

Yes, when ever you remove or loosen the nozzle. The nozzle is supposed to be seated to the end of the heatbreak, with the aluminum heater block holding them together. Since aluminum expands more than the brass nozzle, and the stainless steel heat break, they become unseated when it gets to temperatu...

Out of curiosity, after you reinstalled the nozzle, you did preheat it to around 240, and retightened the nozzle before printing?

Check that the wiring harness is still securely seated in the connector on the hotend,,,,, assuming you "upgraded" to the 280 hotend.

At the least it needs to be dried out,,,,, abs absorbs water. 4 to 6 hours in an oven set at 180 F would do wonders. For the initial setting up, calibrating, etc. I would buy a fresh spool.

A good rule of thumb is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Myself, in the beginning, I would update, just to update. Now? Only if I'm trying to solve a problem.
