Re: Is my RAMBo killed?
By flickering, I mean complete 12v power loss for a second or two, then it would turn on for a random duration and then off for a few seconds and then back on, early it was like after 20 minutes of printing it would shut off for enough to reset the board and then turn on again, but later it got wors...

Re: Upgrade time!
Oh boy. If you purchased a Meanwell power supply, (not sure if you typo'd maxwell or not) then you're in for a bit of a surprise. It's fucking loud. The fan is killer loud.

Re: Control a relay from phone to shotdown a printer
Yes. There are tons of products that can control a relay. The question is: do you want this control to be visible on the internet or not. Personally, I have a smartthings hub, so I have an outlet I can control via an app on my phone. However, you can also use a combination of teamviewer + computer t...

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Also, if you're planning on air-struding, you can just use a few washers to get that 2mm distance without printing a spacer. Just make sure each washer is the same size. I also got the tricklaser fly-n-strude to work by flipping it upside down for now. Not ideal but it works.

I think the e3d mentioned it was a 3x gearing.

Re: E3D Titan on E3D V6?
Just remember that you need a 2mm spacer with the titan. I just used enough washers to add this spacer so I don't have to print a spacer to do the same thing.
Also, the stock stepper motor is rated 67 oz-in, that stepper is rated 18.4oz-in but taking titan gearing into account it's about 55.2oz-in

Is that your LCD ring attached between the effector and the jhead mount? That effector looks like the tricklaser one so how does it shine the light through the metal?

If you connect repeiter host to the printer. does it show it's sending full power to the bed?

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
I'm actually hitting the same problem as you. There really isn't enough clearance to mount a good fan duct + fan. I'm thinking that I really should give up on maximizing "z" height and just sacrifice that for a bit more flexibility in fan mounting.

Re: Is my RAMBo killed?
Here's my recommendation: Dont bother with that model converter or any converter that looks the same. Mine worked for ahwile and started randomly flickering - which screwed up the eeprom on my rambo. Use the stock power supply in conjunction with the 24v feeding the ssr > bed. Everything else, use t...

Re: Request for dc42...
One solution might be to stick a resistor inline... or even a speed controller like this http://www.amazon.com/DROK-Controller-Electric-Protection-High-Current/dp/B00CGXJSNY Since Chances are the "always on" fan output is probably tied directly to the duet power input. Unless you actually ...

Re: Bob64's Max Metal Build
My build is currently at a standstill because I still haven't gotten my steppers from Sparkfun yet. I called them today and the first time they said they'll call me back. I had to call them again 7 hours later to get them to realize they DIDN'T EVEN SHIP MY STEPPERS. 12 days ago they basically told ...

Welllll technically they do offer it, but I guess the special order part would still suck. I mean look at the diagram, 3 sides open, 1 closed.

Derp. It's ironic that I just hit the same issue with my new build lol. He actually supplies some.... aluminum tape looking shim material with it.

Don't change the R number. That's based on the resistor on the duet.

Re: Duet with 24V
Well, I'm thinking that maybe it might be worth going to 24v to increase acceleration/speed of .9 degree steppers? I believe I read someone posting that the back-emf at high stepping speeds causes problems because the current rise isn't enough to counter back-emf.

Re: Bob64's Max Metal Build
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree at this point. I do wish their response time was a bit better however. Anyway, I've begun assembling the max metal frame... but I think I might need more t-nuts based on my rough guesstimate below: T-nut Positioning reference: Crossmember slot, number of t-nuts, position ...

How much would they even charge for a repair anyway?
If you want I could sell you my rambo - I recently upgraded to a duet so my rambo is just sitting around gathering dust atm.

Re: Bob64's Metal Max build
What's an OFWG Cynic? Surprisingly, they didn't even want the steppers back. So now I've got 4 potentially flaky steppers to fiddle around with if I felt like it. The 5th stepper is going in the e-waste pile for sure, the shaft gets "stuck" in certain places. The others sorta feel rough, b...

Bob64's Max Metal Build
I decided to retrofit my Rostock Max v2 into a metal max. I have a ton of parts coming in. I'm planning on building it "inverted" with the steppers on the top for easier wiring. Duet mounted on the top with ssr/power supplies mounted on the bottom. Anyway decided to make my own thread so I...

I just noticed you mounted your pcb heated with the nylon spacers between the Onyx and the snowflake. I'm a bit curious as to why.
