You mean the Y tower?

X is left of the "front" of the machine, Y is the right, and Z is the center-rear. Unless you;ve wired your machine different to the manual

Re: Think I need to re-build my hotend...

Or you can leave it like that and use the hole on the other side for a fresh start. Unfortunately this is one of the newer hotends and doesn't have a second hole. Not that I couldn't drill one of course. Use a cutoff wheel in a dremel tool and cut a slot for a flat blade screwdriver in it. It shoul...

Re: Think I need to re-build my hotend...

So... I re-discovered one of those cool little threaded thermistors you can buy on ebay which I believed I had mistakenly thrown in the trash. Awesome, thought I - now I can make a better hot end. I merrily tapped the thermistor hole on the hotend and started screwing the thermistor in. Hmm... must ...

Re: Think I need to re-build my hotend...

Definitely the wiring. Thermistor came out anyway as I was disassembling and I tested it - was about 100K.

Going to allow more slack in the connection this time and hopefully avoid it happening again.

[Resolved] Think I need to re-build my hotend...

First machine. Completed the build this weekend. When running the calibration scripts I noticed that my hotend wouldn't stop heating up. Seems to be when the wires move a certain way. If I hold them just right, Repetier-Host picks up the temperature signal again and goes back to controlling it I'll ...

[SOLVED] Ran out of wire... is the wire in kit special?

Howdy. In the process of wiring up my new Rev6 Heated Bed and because I jumped ahead in the manual while I was waiting for the Rev6 to arrive, didn't leave enough 18ga wire free so that I could wire up the Heated Bed (it's pretty much all in my towers...) Is there anything I have to know when sourci...

Re: The Cheap Skates.

I'm curious as I've seen this in a different thread - what's the reasoning behind having the end-stop wires in a different tower to the others? Do you get some sort of interference from having unshielded power cables twisted around end-stop cables?

Re: MECHANEIL'S RMAX 2ND EDITION BUILD

As Gene said - I thought the end stop wires were all meant to be routed through the x-axis tower, then at the top they go over to the y and z towers. IIRC the extruder stepper motor wires should be connected to the 22ga wires you routed through the y-axis tower? This is from memory as I don't have t...

Re: Cheap Skates, first time adjustments!!

I'm also not sure this is a problem. I mean, you can see how close to the melamine they're meant to be seated in the manual. I just bashed my T-nuts with a hammer until the barbs dug in and they sat flush. I don't see any other logical way that the T-nuts should be installed other than how I've done...

Re: Hi from South Australia

Yeah - USPS tracking basically stops working once a delivery hits customs. I think Aus Post takes over and their tracking sucks. It normally doesn't update until after they deliver. You and I have covered this in my intro thread but I think it'll help to post here too in case another Aussie does wh...

Re: Hi from Tasmania, Australia

First - sorry for the double post. I too got a call from a Indian claiming to work for FedEx wanting my CC details to pay the import duty. My bulls%^t meter went to 110% and I told her no thanks. I went home and looked up the FedEx Australia number and gave them a call. Guess it wasn't a scam...

Re: Hi from Tasmania, Australia

Original post - leaving here for context: Just gonna chuck this info in here in case anyone else is looking: From what I've read about other Australians buying the Rostock they have not had to pay customs charges. Not to say it won't happen to me but I got a scam call from a Phillipino today (Sunday...

Re: Hi from Tasmania, Australia

In NZ they seem like a good bet, but you're in Oz right? There's bilbycnc, 3dmakergear and 3dprintersuperstore for filament. Shortly there will be another :) The name says NZ but I'm an export living in Tasmania, yeah. Searching google and reddit seemed to reveal DiamondAge as being a reputable sup...

Re: Hi from Tasmania, Australia

Order placed. Yussssss. Now begins the waiting game. Just in case I completely missed it: I need 1.75mm filament right? Need to place an order for some ABS so I can make the fan shrouds. Going with DiamondAge unless anyone else has other recommendations. They seem to be the supplier of choice for Oc...

Re: Hi from Tasmania, Australia

Hey mate welcome! - For the hi-temp silicone stuff - we use Loctite Superflex Red High Temp RTV. It's available here (can't remember where we got it, possibly Trade Tools if they have them down your way). - Disappearing glue stick. I use the cheap 6 pack from Aldi. It's absolutely amazing. Called S...

Hi from Tasmania, Australia

Hey There, I plan on ordering a Rostock v2 some time in the next few weeks - hope you're all ready for some noob questions. I do have a bunch of questions straight up: - What extras do I need to buy straight off the bat from the SeeMeCNC website? (extra glass build plates? different hot end?) Do I l...
