Re: Quickie: V4 how to keep the live Z adjustment all the time?

The other way to change the Z=0 height is to alter the Z parameter (trigger height) in the G31 command in config.g The advantage of doing it this way is that it will be unaffected by running auto calibration. Increasing the Z parameter (or if it is negative - as with nozzle-contact probes - making i...

Re: V4 touchscreen not doing anything

I am assuming that the touch screen on the V4 is a standard PanelDue. Is the status at the top right of the screen "Connecting"? If so then its failing to establish a connection to the Duet. Common causes are: - Mismatched band rates. Both should be set to 57600. On the touch screen it is ...

A long shot, but are you using steel cored belts? The steel cores fracture, which causes this type of problem.

Re: Sampling Filament Compression Force

I don't think any work would need to be done in Cura. If you can come up with a suitable sensor, I'm sure we can support it in Duet 3, and maybe in Duet 2 also. Btw we already have a design for a load cell amplifier interface to the Duet.

Re: Sampling Filament Compression Force

What you need is a load cell or similar sensor that measures the force that is stopping the Bowden tube popping out of the collets at each end. The strain gauge built into the HE300 isn't suitable because, like the the Duet3D Smart Effector is is based on, it is designed to detect changes in force r...

Re: Max v.3.2 dimensions off in one direction

If the scaling error is linear then you can use the M579 command in config.g to correct it, see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/GCode#Se ... esian_axes. However, scaling errors are often caused by factors that don't cause uniform scaling; so I suggest you try larger test cubes too.

Re: RESOLVED: Z probe issues after recalibration

I am having the same issue. Had to replace duet board when it failed. Afterwards, the printer prints large and then trying to calibrate it has made it do all sorts of goofy things, including ramming against the Y and X pillars. Also the center seems offset. That's almost certainly due to incorrect ...

Re: V3.2 Carbon Fiber Rod upgrade

As well as deleting config-override.g, increase the dive height (H parameter in the M558 command) to e.g. 30 until you have it calibrated. That allows more tolerance for the homed height and delta radius not being set accurately. Changing the rod length will have changed the homed height.

Re: CURA

Does Cura support Telnet connection to the printer? If so then you just need to configure it to use Telnet instead of serial, and enable Telnet on the Duet using the M586 command. However, if you want to monitor the printer, then running Duet Web Control on the PC next to Cura will give you more inf...

Swap the X and Y motor connections, also swap the X and Y endstop switch connections assuming the printer homes correctly at present. If you are using software endstop position corrections then you will need to swap those X and Y values too.

Re: Tech Support Needed on Z-Probe Always Triggered

You /cannot/ run the calibration while the heated bed is turned on due to the field the heated bed creates. The calibration macro that SeeMeCNC includes should be turning the bed off right before calibration begins. A simpler option which will cause less drop in temperature would be to use the B pa...

Re: New printer owner here. Ask me questions!

Multiple extrusion has been working robustly on Duets since 2014. What I think is going wrong is that you are not setting the tool standby temperatures (so the standby temperature is 0C), and perhaps you have not set up the tool change macros. Tool standby temperatures are set using the G10 R parame...

Looks like all the big boys have moved over to Duet. I'm still using the last version (circa 2016??) of 626pilot's. I may have to take that plunge too. :( I don't want to stop you buying a Duet, but FWIW there is now a port of RepRapFirmware for LPC1769 based controllers. See https://reprap.org/for...

Re: Duet WiFi - Rostock V2

Be careful if you are driving the BerdAir pump directly from a Duet fan output. The high starting current of brushed DC motors can be too much for the fan mosfet. So you should use either a surge-limiting thermistor in series with the motor, or an external mosfet switch.

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

I'm glad you solved it! It's actually HTML5 local storage that DWC uses, not cookies, but the two are usually enabled/disabled together in the browser.

I'll see if we can have DWC produce a warning when HTML5 local storage is not available.

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

If M552 tells you that networking is enabled by the actual IP address is 0.0.0.0 then your router hasn't assigned the Duet an IP address. Is the Duet connected to your router, or direct to your Mac? if it is connected direct to your mac then you will need to configure static IP addresses for both th...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

Problems connecting a Duet Ethernet to a network are typically caused by IP address conflicts. If you (or SeeMeCNC) haven't already done so, you probably need to change the IP address in the M552 command in config.g to either 0.0.0.0 to get an address from your DHCP server, or to a static IP address...
