Trying to figure out what is causing this. Is my print head too far from the bed? I have slic3r configured for 1.71 filament and I went through the calibration process successfully (i think). Any thoughts?

Re: First Print!
I've got it retracting 10mm at 50mm/s , seems to be working fine for PLA, might try lowering the distance down to get things moving a bit quicker.

First Print!
Finally got the bed's thermistor working and the bed calibrated, decided to print the fan shroud in PLA because the ABS hasn't arrived yet. Even without a layer fan or cleaning the bed the print came out fine :) Still need to work on some overhang issues but the stringing is non-existent. Thanks to ...

Re: Installing cork stepper dampers
Got a few test runs of the arms installed last night, no hot end or anything yet, with the Astrosyn Dampers dampers from http://www.tridprinting.com/Electronics/#Stepper-Motor-Dampers must say, this thing is quite quiet. They were $27 shipped. I haven't received the cork dampers yet, but after I get...

Re: Hello from Indy!
About 1/2 way through the build, about ready to wire up the hot end. Realized last night I was only shipped 5' of 18 gauge wire instead of 10', gotta make a run to the hardware store I suppose lol.

Re: Installing cork stepper dampers
I purchased both the metal and cork dampers and will upload a video of the differences when my kit gets here in a few weeks since it doesn't seem to have been done very well yet.

Re: Prusa i3 too noisy, need a quieter machine!
Mine's pretty loud, even with the Astrosyn dampers, but I have mine seated on a bare wooden stand, so I think Eagle's advice regarding the rubber mat is definitely worth taking. I've been meaning to do that myself. Also noticed that the sound resonates with the top plate on... the top section becom...

Re: Hello from Indy!
Ya I didn't want to bother then with too many beginner questions right off the bat. Yes I have downloaded the manual and read through it once so far, I found with my Prusa it definitely helped once the kit arrived with assembly. I'll be trying to get my printer as quiet as possible, maybe upload som...

Hello from Indy!
Just purchased my v2 max yesterday! Sold my Makerfarm Prusa i3 8" on craigslist and put the money into my first delta!
Is the 7 - 10 day lead time accurate? Trying to schedule out my build time over the next few weeks!

Re: Prusa i3 too noisy, need a quieter machine!
Is something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V-yaSiZ4k8 a good example of how loud one is stock? My makerfarm is audible through multiple walls, this sounds like even a cloth draped over it would silence it? I could definitely live with that amount of noise.

Prusa i3 too noisy, need a quieter machine!
Hello! I currently have a Makerfarm Prusa i3 8" that is making too much noise. I've talked with Colin from Makerfarm and he stated the amount of noise and vibration was normal for his kit. The tenant below he has complained that my machine is making too much noise, so I'm looking for something ...

Re: Installing cork stepper dampers
You can also just buy a sheet of cork from your hobby store and cut it out yourself! I used it on my makerfarm prusa i3 to quiet the y axis motor.
