DLP instead of LED because of pixels (here's an article that explains why The UV output being important is why you remove the UV filters from the bulb and the light path, BUT, be aware that doing so can greatly shorten the life of the DLP system. The filters remove both UV and IR and the latter lea...

Re: Prometheus Hot End: Customizable All Metal Hot End!

Whiny fan: Take the fan off, fold up some kapton tape and place it between the fan and the blades on the HE. It really reduced the noise level for me. I have a modified version of the prometheus from Eric. I had a problem with the first but the second just prints and prints and prints PLA. Haven't t...

Questions about Projectors for Resin-Based Printers

Ok, Jim's Geetar and JohnOly have given us some good basics - now, I'd love to know the details. DLP instead of LED because of pixels (here's an article that explains why) http://envisiontec.com/professional-grade-3d-printers-vs-low-cost-hobbyist-printers/" onclick="window.open(this.href);...

Re: is it ok to leave your printer on?

My common sense answer is no, not really - but if you're forced or forget, the chance something might happen is reduced if you have your HE/bed turned off at the end of a print. This has been covered before in this forum - when you have this in your home, take every precaution you might as if it wer...

My thoughts are buy and modify. Priced separately, you're ahead, plus you have the design that you can modify.

Of course there is this.

Not a new idea - measuring based on lasers and images captured from them; however here goes:

Re: How much is your printing time worth?

Prices, from what I have seen are all over the place. I've taken a few quick prototype jobs to see what the experience of working with someone was and it never came up to an hourly that I liked - primarily due to: Fiile conversation Support Draft Prints Interaction time If you're doing many prints o...

Re: Tri Hotend

I would be very interested in buying and trying. I will be using the stock with Tricklaser arms. Some observations: One would have to be using the same materials (ABS) with the same melting points - which implies (at times), the same color as well. Also, I don't know if you have printed with this ye...

Ok, I'm confused. I have a Rev 5 but drilled out a hole outside (like in previous posts).

I have it all soldered up and ready to install.

Do I switch it back to the center? Geesh!!!
