Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
Man, I love this firmware. I love this controller. David Crocker is a modern day saint. In this thread, we should post photos of prints that show the benefits of the Duet. I've not even really calibrated my radius or e-steps and I'm getting fantastic looking prints.
Post high-res photos of prints here and we can have a huge collection to show people the benefits of the Duet/RRF-dc42 combo for deltas.

Layer height?
Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
D'oh! I guess we should mention some settings. First print is .05mm and second is .25mm. .4mm nozzle.

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
here is my first print with Davids IR-Probe installed.
Nozzle 0.4, Layer 0.2mm
I´m happy with that contactless Probe. It is working perfect with repeatability of 0,01mm.
For this I used a clamped PEI sheet. Not as perfectly even as glass, but working with a first layer of 0.3mm

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
Good to hear the IR height sensor is working well. Mine is showing out for delivery today.
Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
Hi, do you have a link for the sensor?KAS wrote:Good to hear the IR height sensor is working well. Mine is showing out for delivery today.

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
WOW!
Let´s say it with my wifes words: Size matters!
Did you print it with your 0.25 Nozzle? Very cool! I never got good results with a .25 Nozzle.
And I like your Layerfans. Can you tell us where you got them? Which Brand? 24V? Size?

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
That was with a 0.4 nozzle. For the 0.25, I use a geared stepper on the ezstruder.
The fans are the same that seemecnc sells. From them, actually.

Re: Duet/RRF-dc42 Prints
I learned the hard way that their fans are the best option in their size. I got some same-dimension fans with a similar (but not same) part number from eBay, and they worked like crap. Anything less than 100% PWM, and they wouldn't spin at all. They also didn't push nearly as much air.bot wrote:That was with a 0.4 nozzle. For the 0.25, I use a geared stepper on the ezstruder.
