EZR struder wearing out?

Post by thomas49065 »

Anyone else having issues with these? I'm on my 3rd one in a little over a year. Yes I run the darn thing nearly non stop but at $38 a pop getting tired of replacing them. The wheel that keeps the filament pressed against the hobbed drive roller seems to move some how and gets hung up so it stops feeding. Quick press on the red release and boom it works again not sure what or where it is hanging up has to be a very small thing catching it. Am I alone with this issue or are other having the same thing? Is there a better 3rd party replacement?

Sounds to me like the hobbed gear isn't properly aligned with the bearing that's on the feed lever.

They absolutely wear out. I've gone through two already.

Anytime you use abrasive filament (CF filled, wood, etc) it'll wear a grove in the plastic and just so slightly misalign the filament.

Got around this issue by upgrading to Bondtech BMG extruders.... haven't looked back since.
