Figured I'd make a new thread on this. Maybe others aren't getting perfect prints OOB like I am.
I'm getting a bit of stringing, more than I think I ever had on any other printer.
I've tried retraction distances from 2.5-10mm
retraction speeds 25-70mm/s
z-hop on/off
travel speed 150-400mm/s
PLA temps 195-210
Nothing really seems to change the outcome much. I'm perplexed. I'm using repitier flavor, and I'm not even sure that is the correct flavor for the duetwifi.
If someone is having flawless prints, mind sharing an exported cura profile?

I might suggest eliminating variables.
I am still testing my build (and I not ready to print yet); I am going to switch over to Cura so I can use a "pre-tested" profile. I also purchased some Atomic PETG filament in place of the cheap stuff I use. Again, I want to eliminate a variable.

Yup, I followed that guide to the T, even see that some of my suggestions were added. Gave me the worst print of all the tests actually :/

It sounds like you have two concurrent concerns.
1) Bed Leveling
2) Stringing
Personally, I would try to address the Bed Leveling concern first..
The bed leveling could be multi-layer concern as well, it could be two small issues.
The bed leveling is either build, software, or electronics. I would check if you have a mechanical issue with bed leveling first. Once ironed out, I would check for a mechanical issue with stringing next.
I just worked through a software concern whereby the effector was in contact with the bed when I G0 Z0. Prior to that I turned on the printer and then tapped by hand clockwise around the bed every 30 degrees or so looking for activation of the blue FSR leds. This verified that the FSR was functioning in all positionsbut I sort of groused that a window did not exist for the bed lights.
I would also verify the connection from the JohnSL board to the Duet board.
Before I put the towers on to the base; I turned the base upside down to see where the FSR pads were. I noticed that an unmanaged cable or a misplaced zip tie could potentially interfere with the fsr pads and contact points. I did not mention it in my build but I removed the six top screws of the bottom plate because I wanted to see how the printer was built.

Mechanically with stringing. I noticed that a single metal ball arm was not fully seated; and I screwed it down. It could also be the fact that the arms were not clicked into the joints, or maybe even belt tensioning.
I am just suggesting an approach.

Stringing doesn't have anything to do with bed level.
With my configuration, I'm using a 3.5mm retract length at 45mm/sec. When I printed the "firstprint.gcode" file on Saturday, I noticed some very fine stringing in the model, but I attribute that to the higher temp it was set at. I was using a year+ old roll of SeeMeCNC Yellow PLA. Yesterday I ran four Benchy models at 205C, 100mm/sec, 4mm Z hop with a 400mm/sec rapid and there was no apparent stringing. If you're using Cura, make sure you've got the Z travel speed set to 400mm/sec. In order to make sure that the Z will move as quickly as it should, put the following line as the first line in your gcode start code:
M203 Z30000
g.

Suggesting there is more than one concern to address, happening at the same time; not that the two concerns are related.
IMHO it does not pay to look at anything software related (or software tunable) until physical build issues are addressed (or ruled out).

You’ve got a point, but I’d side with geneb. My bed can be leveled, it just sticks on one side and I’d like to fix that.
I generally don’t like z hop and got away with no z hop with my v2 with its e3dv6. I’ll see if adding that gcode for z travel speed and z hop and report back.
