Fill Dither?

Post by nitewatchman »

Trying to become more proficient with Slic3r.

Most things are clear but I can't seem to be able to control the "dither" of a fill line. What I am referring to is the case where the distance between two lines is more than can be filled by a single fill line but is not wide enough for two fill lines. The nozzle is rapidly oscillated back and forth to generate the fill between the two lines.

How can I control the speed or frequency of the oscillation?

Hi Nitewatchman:

in the slic3r config panel, go to the "Print Settings" tab, then under "speed",
look for the "gap fill" setting.
This will allow you to alter the speed of the oscillation or turn it off etc..

Here is the description:
Speed for filling small gaps using short zigzag moves.
Keep this reasonably low to avoid too much shaking and resonance issues.
Set zero to disable gaps filling.
Default: 20.
