I don't think it'll be an issue, but you could wedge a bit of scrap melamine under the wire if you're concerned about it. I've not had an issue with the build machine.

I think I'll let it ride for right now, do a few hours of printing and check for wear. I also ran wiring for led lights in that tube, so I might run one wire down each of the other two tubes, as they have a tad more room.

If I every go for dual extrusion I'll have to figure out a different way to route cables though..

Do NOT run power wires down the Y axis tower! The end stop wires will pick up the power via magnetic coupling and your printer will never work right - it'll be plagued by "ghost" switch closures.

I currently have a cable duct up the left side of my printer. Ugly, but lots of room. I have a design for printed cable trunking that will look better (I plan to print masters, then rotocast more once I've got a rotocaster, as that's a lot of material if printed), but haven't tested it.

New problem:

It seems like the carriage trucks will not shut. Also, I can't seem to get the screws all the way in. They are go in a out 1/4" and stop (halfway)

Problem was my skinny screwdriver was too skinny and unable to provide adequate torque. A screwdriver with. Fatter grip solved the issue. They don't lock in but I took one off the rails and they simply do not snap together.


I swapped locations of the extruder three times before I settled on the right spot. I had the spoil holder put together incorrectly, which resulted in a very confusing problem of "it don't fit in the hole"

The qr didn't come with appropriate mounts for the Rostock so I have to put the stock one on till I can print one.

Also, I never noticed a real need to a heated inclosure on my Prussa i3 but it had about half the build height.... Something I need to get on right away or no?

The QR mount is usually a separate item. It's probably easier to print one than order it at this stage. the STL is here: http://forum.seemecnc.com/download/file.php?id=11326

As far as a heated enclosure, it's not needed if you're not doing huge prints, especially if you use things other than ABS. My enclosure was mostly started to keep people and FOD out of the print area, and keep the printer from dropping chunks on the floor when it failed. Heating came later. (I'm still working on making the Rambo control it. I may break down and have the inkbird run it for a while). But if you're doing large prints with ABS, it helps (I had parts cracking fairly often before, and not at all afterwards, even before I added active heaters)

We are printing! Z-height was a little high, so I'll have to make a tweet there, but ima let it go for the first print. I'm going to reprint in neon green but it isn't here yet. The printer is significantly quieter than my old Prussa

Looks great. when the gang at SeeMeCNC selected and created this PEEK fan shroud as the first thing you print it was a stroke of genius . The part is complex but designed to slice well with MC and pulling it off the plate is a fantastic boost to the feel good factor involved in putting together what is in fact a quite complex piece of equipment.

what should I use to remove the glue stick gunk, and how often do you recommend i do it

I can get 4-6 parts per glue stick application. You can use warm water to wash it off.

Would older (open for 7mo) abs lead to adherence issues? The layer fan printed ok, but I tried and failed twice to get another part (filament cleaner) to to stick. It only makes about a 1cm circle on the bed to start.... Maybe I need a raft.

If you haven't done so already, double checking your z height wouldn't be a bad Idea.
