Hello from Michigan!

Post by bennylee »

Hello! Very happy to be here and a member of the SeeMeCNC community. I can't tell you how excited I was to go through building the Max v2. Every time I hold a completed print in my hands, I still can't believe it was on a spool of plastic just minutes/hours before. I'm even more ecstatic when I design something myself, prototype a few models, and then have something functional later in the day!

Here's a couple things I've designed...and a couple I didn't. I'll take credit for the usb headphone cord holder and the notebook clip/pen holder. The blue filament is SeeMeCNC ABS and the black is Superior Filament recycled ABS (gotta support the Michiganders).

The USB plug could come in handy for many other things, as long as heat isn't an issue. I put it out on Tinkercad if you'd like to use - https://tinkercad.com/things/bOPUUPl05Lz.

Welcome to the forums from another michigander. If you're in southeast michigan, say around detroit or A2, feel free to drop me a line if you need help. And if you get a chance, drop by the printing lab at Washtenaw community college. It looks like your V2 was one of the last before the switch over to V3's, and that it's giving you some impressively good parts already.

Hello Xenocrates! It would be great to stop by and see a printing lab. I'm in the Midland/Saginaw area, so not too far away. Also, I appreciate your offer to help.

A few weeks after I finished assembling it, I saw the announcement about the v3 availability . It's all good though, I'm very happy with what has been printing so far.

I've got some pictures of the lab I've been meaning to upload. It's got the UoM folks drooling already. 22 printers (Sadly no delta's yet, but I have some plans to change that). But if you drop by mid-afternoon Monday or Wednesday most weeks, the lab should be if not open, at least having something going on with the lights on.
