New Artemis in So Cal

Post by BSR-1 »

Hi, I'm John.
Just had my new Artemis delivered about an hour ago. I've been printing for about 3 months (CR 10S, Artillery Sidewinder X-1, Anycubic Predator).
I've had limited success with the Chinese printers and wanted to try "Made in USA". I mean they seem to work pretty well for a while and then I start having problems and buying parts to try and keep them running. I'm hoping to not have that problem any more.
One thing I noticed, The Predator (Delta Bot) doesn't fall to the bed when there's no power. The Artemis, as soon as I removed the plastic restraints dropped kinda slowly until resting on the bed.
I didn't get any instructions with it. Am I missing something, Or do you just plug it in and figure it out as you go?

Thanks in advance for having me here and any help you can provide!

John

OK next problem:
I tried about six times to get it hooked to my WiFi. My Router has NETGEAR13 and NETGEAR13-5. After repeatedly trying the "13-5" I thought that may be the problem, so I tried just "13" because that's the network name on the back of the printer.
It finally connected to that but on my computer I'm using the "13-5".
I'm wondering if it'll work or if it makes a difference? I mean are they both the same network as far as the printer is concerned?
I've tried to change it but it doesn't seem to want to switch.
I will try to reset and start again.

Okay, I reset factory settings and now the touch screen is upside down.
Anyone have a fix for this?

I figured out how to right the screen. I still can't find any interface on my computer to actually control the printer.

I'm going to take a guess that the "13" and "13-5" mean that the "13" is 2.4Ghz WiFi and the -5 mean it's 5Ghz.
If you've done the WiFi setup correctly and haven't changed the printer name in config.g, you should be able to reach it by going to http://artemis.local.
