Hi From Houston, TX!

Hey All,

Well I am proud to say I can now call myself a Max V2 owner! I got her in on Thursday and now here I sit early Saturday morning next to a beautiful black Max V2. I added the E3D V6 head and also the carbon fiber arms upgrade from Trick Laser on my build. I am working to get her all calibrated today and hope to have everything dialed in shortly.

I'm a bit of a maker in my spare time. I am a professional sports photographer by trade. Sadly my work keeps me on the road most weekends and sometimes for weeks on end. But when I am home I always have some project going. I design and sell LED lighting for reef tanks and also aquarium controllers. I also have been doing a bit of aluminum anodizing and my CNC mill should be here in a few weeks. I dabble in Arduinos and burn my own own PCB's for my projects (Though looking forward to etching them on the CNC shortly and ditching the acid bath etching for good)

My long term goal with my Max V2 is printing in Nylons and PC filaments for personal and work projects. I also am looking into lost PLA casting for a few projects.
I did a fair amount of research and over and over the Max V2 kept getting great reviews from makers and folks doing more than just printing action figures and the like on their printers. I love the fact that I now know where ever part of my printer is and what it does. It is a huge source of pride and I am madly in love with this printer already.

I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from many of the great post I have read here. I also hope that over time I can also provide insights and input that will help everyone in the Max family to better use and understand their printer. I will try to post a few pics of my new rig in the build section soon. I am currently also working to enclose the printer and control both temperature and humidity within the build space.

I look forward to meeting many new folks here and hope I can offer something to the discussions to repay all the info I have already learned while reading your posts here. Also forgive me if I sound a bit cut and dry here... Pulling an all nighter to finish my build has sort of zapped my funny bone I fear!

Wow, with all the stuff you have going on I don't see how you find the time to get it all done!
Pictures of your new build would be appreciated, no matter how many builds we see each one is unique onto itself.
We would appreciate your input to forum comments or questions and we are here to answer any question you
may have also.
May your new printer bring you many hours of enjoyment and enable you to be even more creative.

Hey Matthew!

Beautiful build. I'm in the Tomball area (near Houston) and just finished my Max V2 as well. I absolutely love the printer. I'm contemplating upgrading to the E3D v6 and possibly the tricklaser arms. My prints are pretty darn smooth with the standard V2 arms slightly modified to remove a bit of friction. I'm not sure I could get anything better from the tricklaser arms.

Very interested in mimicking your E3D v6 setup. Have fun!

Thanks!!! I will be sure and touch base with you when I am to that point. I have a good bit left to do before I am ready though. But it was one of the main reasons I got into 3d printing and i can put it to good use and so can a few of my clients. Thank you again for the offer and I look forward to taking you up on it.

That's the main reason I got into 3d printing as well. I've burnt up so many prints now its not even funny.
Metal casting and 3d printing are very addictive...don't say I didn't warn you LOL.
