vibration dampers on clearance

Post by Earthbound »

Anyone thinking about adding vibration dampers to your stepper motors, now is the time. Grab some form the SeeMeCNC parts shop while they are on sale. Doesn't say if these are Astrosyn or other brand, but at $3.50 each the price is hard to beat. You'll need to source a pair short M3 screws to install the damper to the motor. Re-use the original motor mounting screws to mount the damper to the upright.

That is a great deal for those who need them!
Don't forget that Astroboy sells these also.

Have these on my machine...so quiet that I think my hotend fan is the loudest component.

Sorry, that was partially my fault. Didn't see them on SeeMe until the other day...

Sometimes that's the cost of doing business, as a consumer that is :)

I paid $8 ea for mine, and that's fine. I assumed that Astroboy payed the shipping to import a bulk order of them, and he's definitely got to make a couple bucks to make it worth his while. I have zero issues with that.
I used to sell oil seals for an obscure Yamaha motorcycle to other forum members, same kind of situation where there was a ridiculous shipping cost so I ordered a few dozen... Gotta make a few bucks to even be worth the hassle.

Haha, no hard feelings here. I'd love to help people get the best deal on what they buy - I don't make too much of a cut, but it's something I enjoy doing, so I don't mind putting time into it. FWIW, either SeeMe got a killer deal, or they are selling them at a loss, because I definitely have not gotten a price like that... :D

Get 'em while they're hot!

Holy frick, I got my set of dampers in last night and had some time to install them this morning, and the difference is ABSURD. The hotend fan is now by far the loudest thing part of my printer. Seriously, the motor are almost 100% silent now, it's crazy!

It's hard to describe the difference until you do it.

hahahaha, yeah, they're gone. Astroboy, sorry to steal the thunder temporarily, we're out now, so you should be back in business :). Geneb, yes, almost! You know steve never buys just what he needs to test stuff, you've seen the hoards! I know we didn't make money on these, just trying to clean out some shop space.

Wonder what i'll find next that partdaddy says i can sell? Any requests? lol

No problemo! You actually stepped in at the right time - I've been out of stock until today.
