I saw it, but haven't tried it. Reminds me of the FLUX printer and how it's got the hotend enclosed in a triangular prism.

Any status KAS? I'm going to put an E3D on my newest one but haven't decided on the mount yet.

I like the mount but from the picture I cannot tell if it uses the E3D cooling fan or an external. If you print one could you tell us the status of the fans?

I haven't installed it as I'm waiting for the hardware for the tricktruck install now. ( want to do everything at once)

On the last image I held the base up to the mount I'm currently using, the E3D fan/blue shroud slides between the supports of the new mount. I cant foresee any issues as it appears to be the same height as-well.
I tried the Advanced top section and didn't care for the extra thickness or the small hole to get at the bowden adapter, ended up trashing that one and going with this one (basic).

I just printed one of these with black ABS in about 40 minutes using the E3D-V6 in a groove mount from tricklaser and installed it. I made one in PLA which took around 4 hours. Came out fine, but I didn't know at the time that the heatsink would do such a good job of dissipating heat, so I was scared to use it. Would be an awful mess if the hotend mount melted while I wasn't paying attention.

FYI, as long as your heatsink fan does a good job, PLA should be fine.

First print with it was a 20x20x20 cube. Best part I've printed so far. It's ALMOST 20mm on any side, anywhere on it. Like 19.94, 20.02, 19.98.... I like those numbers =)

I had to file the inner diameter of the top piece hole for the top of the heatsink a little, but now it's a perfect fit. I think I need to make a new layer fan mount, though. The tip of my nozzle is a good couple of milimeters above the base of the layer fan, and the heatsink fan is only half a milimeter above the effector. Not enough wiggle room there =(

I like this mount a lot. It's very light weight. After about a million failed ABS prints at speeds < 50mm/second, I decided to try 100mm/second just to see what would happen. My jaw dropped when I saw how nice things got. I used the octagramspiral infill for the top/bottom layers when printing the mount because rectilinear and concentric would result in small-radius circling around the points of the mount which got things too hot and caused some nasty slush to develop. With the tricklaser mount, screws, nuts, inserts, steel spacers, AND the hotend, going that fast on a part with lots of curves can be kinda harsh. I haven't weighed the wood and ABS mount yet, but I suspect they're pretty close without adding any metal to the mix. With the spacers and stuff, the ABS mount is going to be substantially lighter.

My kludgey groove mount install.. Yes, that is hot glue.

Awesome! Thanks for posting pics of one installed. I've been slacking doing it myself only because I keep ordering upgrades and putting it off to do everything at once.

I really like this mount. It was .15mm to thin so there was some play. I fixed it in sketchup so now it fits snug.

What size screws did you guys end up using on the basic mount? When I print this out it is much longer than the originals. At least .25"

Finally found a good layer fan for the E3D-V6 and this mount.

I printed this and used it on my Lite6.

- I like the design
- Like the fit - it's very good
- Don't like how it 'hides' the PTC fitting on the top of the e3d/lite6 - you'll need a screwdriver to remove the bowden tube. Minor annoyance.
- Don't like how it blocks view of the upper portion of the hot-end, I like to see what's going on :) Very minor annoyance.
- I like the cable holders, though they seem a little thick for actually zip-tying to.

Overall it's a well designed mount and it'll be staying on my Rostock :) I printed mine from Purple ABS and it's kickass.
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I agree, don't like how you cant release the bowden because its hidden, but you can fix that by printing this this extension.

That's odd, I'm curious how you both have it mounted. I'm using the small top without the wire clips.

My bowden tube is right at the top (minus the small recessed section because of the yellow jacket quick release board), but even with that I can use my fingers.

I gotcha, I didn't even bother printing that one to test. The small top mount sits flush with the top of the E3D v6.

I would like to print this mount, but right now, my V2 is failing non-stop on printing multiple objects. The parts of the print that are farthest from the center start sliding and the print fouls. It's an adhesion issue that really fights me on small nozzle print setups. My solution has been to print things on center, which means I usually break files up to allow single item prints. This file (.skp or .stl) either won't open (.skp) or won't let me un-bind the objects (.stl) in 123d Design.

Can someone publish the parts in separate files or tell me how to split them?

They appear to be very well designed, and I would love to print them.
