He280 upgrade on max V2 . Y axis inverted

Post by DonB »

After purchasing a fully assembled HE280 and Wire Harness I finished my
upgrade of the new HE280 on me DYI Rostock V2 MAX.

When I originally assembled this base V2 months ago Ive been successfully
printing for months.

After the HE280 Upgrade, I followed these steps:

#1 - Cleared the Eprom
#2 - Grabbed the newest V92.2 of the firmware, compiled and uploaded
successfully. When using MatterControl to send HOME, Y Axis seems to move
Down (as a much slower speed then X and Z) , While X and Z speed to the
top.
So, power off

#1 - Clear E-prom
#2 - Modify configuration.h to Select V2

No change, still inverted

#1 - Clear E-prom
#2 - Modify configuration.h to Select Older Power Supply

No change, Y still inverted

#1 - Clear E-prom
#2 - Modify configuration.h to Select Older Power Supply AND V3

No Change, Y still Inverted

I have pulled the Rambo board and verified no pinched cables, no damaged
leads on Y-axis connecter. Verified X, Y, Z and ES0 are all plugged into
appropriate connection.

Any ideas?

The POWER_SUPPLY constant only does something when the Orion configuration is selected. (They probably should have named it ORION_POWER_SUPPLY for even more clarity than the comment.)

I think most V2 upgraders go with the V3 profile and change INVERT_Y_DIR from 1 to 0. No, it's not at the top, you have to go find it in the V3 section.

Alternately, you could change the wiring at the Y motor connector to invert one coil. Swapping pins 1 and 2 would do it.

That was exactly the problem. I was not changing the value of the correct y-axis-invert. When I went Down to the Printer==5 section, it solved my problem.

Thank you

Did you change the define Z_PROBE_SPEED 60 to 90?

Mine kept screwing up with auto level before I changed it....

I used the correct V2 settings!
