Hi guys,
I just received my promotheus hotend, and i have a few questions.

After reading the instructions and installing the hotend on my Rostock.... i cloged it just after 10 minutes...

For information, I did the modification on the firmeware and a PID autotune. I use an EDGE filament from E3d at 240°. i don't know really whats happen, i check a video on youtube about the prometheus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_TJTh83tlg) and i have noticed a hex nut on the cold zone after the Heater Block but not on the official instruction, why the hex nut? Furthermost i have a hole for one M3x3mm Set Screw right next to the heater cartridge but nothing on the official instructions , maybe I lost a bit of heat wiht no screw in ? so need a screw ?

Is someone have some ideas..

Assemble per official guide here... https://www.distechautomation.com/pages/user-guide
EXCEPT put only one nut below heater block, one nut above heater block, and one nut against cooling fins with 2mm gap between the upper two nuts.
I have much better results printing PLA, no jams!
Others have found the same to be true. I believe the idea originally came from ccavanaugh on this forum.

As far as the set screw in heater block against the heat break/nozzle threads, you can probably do without as long as nuts are tight against heater block.
Note: if you do use set screw against threads, don't tighten very tight else you may damage the threads.

Hi Brian,

Yes I have followed these instructions. And for a 0.4mm nozzle I'm supposed to put 2 of Hex Nuts below the Heater Block. And most of the time I print ABS, PET and now Edge. You think I can setup like you ?

yes, you can still print ABS, etc. just fine with this configuration.
