Value for the pot that controls LCD contrast?

Post by dgriff »

Does anyone know what the value for the surface mount pot is that controls LCD contrast is (mine is a Max V2 if that matters)? Mine seems to be going flaky and has a hair trigger. One micrometer either direction and it's unusable. Was thinking about hitting it with a shot of deoxit, but wouldn't hurt to know the value just incase.

Edit: Found a schematic. https://reprap.org/mediawiki/images/7/7 ... scount.pdf

Looks like it's a 10K SMD pot. Seems to have a hair trigger between no display and solid blocks, would replacing it with a 50 or 100k variable pot make things a little less sensitive so the sweet spot is easier to find?

It sounds like you've simply got a bad pot on your hands. The value is probably fine.
