Odd problem - resin sticking to nozzle not platform

Post by hmanvel »

I'm tearing my hair out on this one. Suddenly my Rostock max V2 is bunching molten resin around the nozzle instead of putting it on the platform! I've tried recalibrating, I've replaced the nozzle twice. Seems to extrude normally when the thing isnt printing. I've tried glue stick, blue tape, nothing will stick. Has anybody had experience with this???

Have you tried a different filament? What are you printing with? What temp? What's the bed temp set at?

printing ABS, bed temp 85, extruder temp 235. It manually extrudes straight and normal. I'm now thinking I've got a calibration problem with my printer. The z probe calibration does three points nicely, but then goes to the middle with a crash, retracts to home and continues crashing in the middle in an endless do loop. I have to power down the printer to get it to stop.....

Try calibrating by hand and see if that works.

Chances are the nozzle is too high above the glass for the ABS to stick properly.
