Getting Orion and Repetier-Host for Mac to Talk

Post by Mrfrankl »

I have my brand new Orion printer hooked up and successfully printing files from the included SD card (yay!)

I have also installed the latest version of Repetier-Host for Mac.
I downloaded an .STL file from Thingyverse and successfully loaded it into Repetier-Host. I was able to use the slicer function and generate the g-code to feed to the ORION printer.
Even though the printer is "Connected" both physically (USB) and in Repetier-Host, I'm unable to send commands from my Mac to the printer.

From the product manuals I was reading, it was implied that the Driver for the Orion printer is already on the Mac.

I'm just not sure what step I'm missing to make this connection complete.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The baud rate is often the issue, the default 250000 doesn't work well. Try 115200.

I've fidgeted with the baud rate to no avail.

I've downloaded the Reptier-Host firmware v0.91 in addition to Arduino IDE 1.0.5

I feel like I'm falling down a rabbit hole with this and may be heading in the wrong direction. I've been culling message boards and haven't many that have had this issue. So, maybe I'm trying to do this all wrong?
