Stepper powering LCD

Post by richardphat »

Hey,

I just finish building the Rostock Delta V2. Before I plug the power cord to the power supply, my LCD screen emits light when I was moving the extrusion arms attached to the motor. Is it something I should be worrying about? I thought you can't have current when the switch is off or the power cord is not connected.

Thanks.

I've seen this also. The stepper is acting like a generator, and creating a small charge. That's why it's best to not move the steppers by hand unless you have to.

Thanks, I am glad it wasn't something specific related to my printer.
