I can't get a screw through a washer.

Post by MARSTECH »

I know this sounds like I'm a complete idiot (while that may be true); I'm really getting stumped by this. I am building a Rostock Max V2, and on page 46 of the manual it says, "In order to install them, you'll need to add a #6-32 washer to two of the #6-32, 1-3/4” Stainless Steel flat head screws and insert them into the back of each stepper motor mounting plate as shown below." When I try and put the washer through the screw it won't go through. Am I missing something here, and is the washer even necessary? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
A guy who has no idea what he's doing

Are you sure grabbed the right washers? There are #4 & #6 washers in the kit.

I have included 3 sites that have the dimensions of washers.
If you have a mm ruler or a caliper you can measure the id and od of the washers and know that the washer
is a #4, a #6, etc.
