I like my stuff to be clean looking To change heads I swapout the entire effector plate for another one (I'm doing three to start)

Next up is doing a magnetic Effector Plate but along the lines of this....

That's a great looking build!

One thing to be cautious of... The inner 3 holes on the YJ board are electrically connected (labeled with G+ and G-), don't short them with aluminum!

The only thing I don't like about that board is the fact that the groove mount leaves the hot end off center.
Why are the three inner holes powered?

Swapping out the whole effector is an excellent idea though - unless you've got Trick Laser arms installed. :)

Is it aluminum, or is it printed? I can't quite tell, could go either way.

Otherwise, definitely looks really nice, I'm jealous!

Looking good. I did the same with the connectors mounted underneath. Think I might mod mine to have LED's on top for the fans. That was suggested for the next revision board, but that should be easy enough to do now.

It shouldn't. Did you file down the 3 inner tabs inside the center hole?
Why are the three inner holes powered?
That was for transferring power to the Top Hat LED plate (TrickLaser sells them) via the screws so no wires were needed, but that was nixed. The next version will remove this but still make it possible via solder jumpers.
Same goes for the 3 outer mounting holes, they will have solder tabs for those that want to power the bottom LED ring without wires. That will all be detailed in the next version.

Sure you can link it. Send me a next rev kit! My mount is printed ABS so no shorting issues. I used the Mattercontrol mount since is stiffer than the other two mounts I tried. I'll post some shots of it on the printer later. It's much cleaner with one cable and the Bowden tube coming into the top

Jassper, I don't have one of the boards - I was just going on .... you know what? I need to just quit talking. *laughs* My response was based on my COMPLETE and total misunderstanding of what I was looking at. :D

As the great Gilda Radner once said, "Nevermind". :D

Alternate to using the Pluggable connectors if you are already set up with JST's

I had my bend air kit and Quick change board come and I am about to start putting them together and to do that I will be pulling freeze frames of of the video at http://www.themakerhive.com/shop/viewit ... &groupid=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as I do not do well with video instructions I like to have printed pages to refer to so i will do that for a guide.
I do much better as I get older with instructions like those that Gene has created for the Max and backing those up as he has done with check point videos is a great system.

at the very end of the video for the bend air is a frame showing the way it is attached to the effector but the pipe in that frame looks partly collapsed as it bends around the effector is that what you mean to use pliers to try to open the collapse?
also While I found the pdf appended below on the quick change board page I would do better with old fashioned schematic circuit diagrams... what are the reason for the different pinouts on this and how are they controlled via the rambo setup?
I assume that the fan 1 is the peek fane and fan 2 the layer fan in which case am I right that that is what I connect the air pump to? and does the % fan 2 control in the interface then control the speed of the air pump?

I'll mention it to Glenn. Great comment.

Another vote for written instructions. Videos are great to see how things are put together, but when I'm putting something together myself it's much easier if I can jump around and reread sections at my own pace. This is best for finding and referring to something later also.

I know my instructions aren't the greatest. Time is a huge factor for me.
I'll see what I can do to make them better.
