Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount.
Nice machine work. This should work fine with the new platform too from what I can see.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount.
Thank you! That means a great deal coming from you. Very glad to hear it should work on the new platform as well. It was something I was worried about and was working out how to do an upgrade program for folks who bought now if there were major changes needed on the new platform later. I am glad to hear that should should not be an issue.PartDaddy wrote:Nice machine work. This should work fine with the new platform too from what I can see.
A while back on FB someone at SeeMeCNC reached out and ask for a few mounts for the printers in your showroom.. I touched base but they never got back to me. If someone from SeeMeCNC will PM me and is still interested, I can send over a few mounts if you guys still want to take a look at them.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
UPDATE!!!! 10/9/15
***The day has arrived at LAST! We will be opening the website to the public on the 15th of October. We will have a limited release until then for those who were early supporters and helped refine the mount into the great product it is now. Beta testers have logged thousands of hours of combined printing on their mounts and I have worked hard to listen to their feedback and adjust the mount to fix their few concerns. I will be sending out emails to the early backers tonight and tomorrow for the limited release so they can be among the very first to have their new mounts. If you get this email please do not share the link so I can be sure to have the early release mounts out in a timely fashion before the public release. I know this has been a long time coming and I am sure a few folks were starting to think it might never happen. But I hope the quality of the mounts and performance they bring to everyone's printers will make up for the delays. I wanted to do everything I could to make sure the release was a success and we were done with testing.***
We will open the http://713maker.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; website Monday 12am CT for public orders.
I am working now on a similar style mount for the SeeMeCNC stock hot end as I am aware not everyone has a slot mount style hot end. I hope to have an update soon and I also hope to expand to more styles of mounts very soon to help more folks enjoy a rock solid mount and make switching out your hot end just a bit easier.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
Hey Gene,
As I recall you were asking for a bowden tube attachment like this on a lock ring right?
It has the m5 treads and this is the adapter from the SeeMeCNC stock hot end. This is a Carbon fiber tester. I can make then in 6061 1/8" or carbon fiber.
Let me know if this is what you wanted for the J head mounts you were speaking about.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
Yes. The J-Heads I use are _real_ J-Heads made by Brian Reifsynder of hotends.com. They don't have a built-in bowden fitting.
Do the standoffs you make have threaded ends? My "go-to" J-Head printer is Orange Menace. I've got a quick-change hot-end rig set up that uses threaded F-F 1" hex standoffs. When I take the hot end off the printer, the stand offs remain mounted to the effector platform. I use a set of thumbscrews to hold the J-Head mount to the effector.
Thanks!

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
Yes both end of the stand offs are threaded for the included M3 screws. You can do as you say and leave the spacers mounted to the effector plate or you can remove the bottom set and the whole unit, spacers, mount and hotend will come off with just three screws. No more long bolts and nuts. I will try post a few more pictures tonight to try and show it better for others and I will get the early release link out to you shortly. Working a small website format issue and my Code Monkey just got home from NASA! I will also be adding the lock ring pictured here in 6061 for sale.geneb wrote:Yes. Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
We added a few items tonight and made some changes our early adopters asked for like being able to choose any colors for the lock ring, mount and spacers for each kit. Looking forward to the launch VERY SOON!

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
So many parts for so many things. Can I make a recommendation to group them together in kits or at least have a list. From experience, if you just have a la carte people will f*ck it up and it will be a customer service nightmare for you.
For example:
Part 1, 2, n for this hotend
Part 1, 3, n for this hotend
etc etc
Looking good though. Cant wait!

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
Yes we are willing to ship. We are still trying to find the cheapest/fastest way. USPS wants around $12+ to most countries.. Not sure if that is high or a good price. I think the shipping time was a few weeks? I would have to go back and check. But if someone is fine with the shipping costs (we do not try to make anything off shipping) then we will gladly ship pretty much any place. Just shoot us an email before you order and we will work out the best shipping for you.duvdev wrote:WOW I want one.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
So today a good point was brought up. How do you attach the wires to the mount for strain relief? I have always attached mine right to the mount. But with feedback from a trusted source. I whip up this guy today. It allows you to either keep the wires held close to the mount or to use it for zip-tie attachment to hold your wires. It screws on top of the lock rings and can be placed on any of the three sides of the mount to best suit your needs. I am always listening to feedback and trying to adapt the mounts to work well for everyone.
This is the first prototype out of 1/8" stock. Production models will be from .090" (2mm) stock.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASING OCT 15
We are trully working on it. I am getting the carbon fiber cutting system nailed down better tonight so i can keep it as tight as I can on the measurements from one batch to the next. The CNC does a great job of cutting it, just working on a better fixture. My Code Monkey was up till 5am adding all the new stuff and tweaking everything. We are trying to open a day early if we can. So where abouts in Texas? We just moved to Marshal Space Flight Center in Huntsville AL after growing up in Houston for 40 years. But when the Code Monkey gets a killer offer at a better NASA site, you go!

Finishing up the final shoot to show the new strain relief add on (standard with every mount now and same color as the lock ring). My code monkey is standing by to update the shots and open the website. Meanwhile I am finishing the anodizing for the early orders and putting together spacers so the early orders should all ship out tomorrow.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
The mount website is launched!!! http://713maker.com/. I know many (myself included) wondered if this day might ever come. Well it is here at last and already we are off to a great start with mounts from our early supporters being shipped to three countries and counting! If anyone has any questions or would like a special adapter or new lock ring made for another hot end, please feel free to contact us! I am already starting work on a few other hot ends and we hope to expand to cover more of the popular hot ends shortly.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
You guys are keeping me busy this weekend! Thanks! We are running 2 mills, one for carbon fiber tubes and another for spacers after running both all night long to cut out more stock.. Anodizing like mad today and our finishers are working around the clock to keep up with all the orders! BIG lot of shipments going out Monday!

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
Just dropping by to say the response has been amazing guys! The mills are running around the clock and I think I am anodizing spacer end caps in my sleep I have done so many of them! But of course these are all great things! We have a big lot of orders going out tomorrow. We are cutting new stock as fast as we can and working on the third wave of orders now! So far Sapphire blue and black are the most popular colors by far. Orange is in a close third. Four countries and counting and coast to coast in the USA already. I really hope everyone loves their mounts when they arrive!

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
Just a quick question. If i were to pair the seemecnc hot end and yellow jacket, would i still need to get the seemecnc lock ring or will i just use the sock nut to hold it to the YJ and mount the board to the main piece?
