It's not a free model I think it's from cubify.combplemmons wrote:Where do you get the rook stl that I have seen printed in one of the Rostock videos? it't the one with the spiral stairs in it...

I too was searching for it and I thought it is a free model. But now as I have more information, I will find it easily.

Re: Rook with spiral stairs stl?
There is a rook with spiral stairs now available for free at
https://www.youmagine.com/designs/make- ... -documents" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is the .stl used for Make Magazine's 2015 printer torture test. I printed it on my Rostock V2 with transparent Red PLA scaled up to 150%. The first test was a little rough but I had the print speed turned up and the layer fan turned down. Trying it again at the default speed with 100% fan and it is looking better.
Have fun!

Perfect! I requested a sample from Formlabs for their Form 1+ and this is the model they used. I've always been curious if I could make a 1:1 comparison with my Max, now it looks like I can!

That rook model is old. I remember my Shop Teacher having one from a conference he went to and that was back in 1998. I think it was off one of those fancy million dollar Stratasys machines at the time.

Haha, I've only been on the 3d printing scene a month, I have no idea. You know the phrase "you learn something new every day?" Well, I'm still learning 10 new things every day.
