H-1 Mod- Z-axis cross bars with filament holder

Post by bvandiepenbos »

Here is my latest mod.
New cross rods to strengthen frame.
Raised with extra bar clamps so I did not lose 1" of build height.
Rollers are electrical conduit with bearings, spool rolls really easily!

Looking good! How is the frame of the H-1 holding up to the weight of the extra parts and filament? Have you found any problems with the bent rods twisting or bending?

I have not had any trouble. Actually it makes the frame stronger.
A lot less shake/wobble than without cross bars.
Still get slight flex on bottom plate where Z-axis rods mount.
Am making 'outrigger feet' to steady it up more.

Thanks JT
Your more than welcome to use my design.
I did some printing today and the spool rolled easily and feed nice.

Very Nice!
I agree with JT, I might well have to copy that one myself.
