77C Max I can get for heatbed?

Post by mikes3ds »

The power to the heat bed turns off around 77c

What do you think the cause is? Is it software, transistor (If it is what should I buy or do), solider job or something else?

Info:
1. I have a pretty crappy soldier job on the heatbed for the main connectors, with a 14 (or 16?) gauge wire a foot long.
2. Also I fan directly blowing on the transistor with a heatsink on it; however, with out that the fan on it only gets up to 44c.
3. 12v 30a Dc Power Supply.

Check the wires comin outh of the rambo to the heated bed.

Last time that happened to me the connector on the rambo had fried.

Check that no components on the controller boards are hot.

The Transistor with a heat sink was really really hot (And the capacitors around it were hot); so I put a fan directly on it. (Seemed to keep everything cool)

I don't have rambo board, I am using a AZSMZ (A knock off of the Smoothie board)

It seems like it is not up to the task. And it is doing a thermal shutdown.

Try to slow the procedure down.

Put a towel on the heated bed and decrease the pid max value.
