Got bored at work... the result: transparent abs

Post by guanu »

So yea, I wanted to try something at work, and ended up making some transparent abs... its awesome... completely water clear filament and looks cool... thought you might want to see...

(yes, I want to try to vapor polish it to see if the part becomes completely clear, just no acetone here at the shop for some reason)

That's interesting! Show us the models after a vapor bath! And some closeups!

Was this made with the filastruder at the office? Possibly PET and PLA?

yup, used a filastruder... havent ran pet or pla... ran some blue abs regrind, but it had some contaminates, so purged it and ran virgin clear abs.. and it came out great, so I decided to print with it... works great

It's actually a Filabot Wee, NOT the filastruder, lol.

Ooh I have a wee. Where did you get virgin clear ABS?

BTW, I keep reading the title of the thread as abs as in stomach muscles every time. ;)

This stuff is sick.

I've seen it in person and even without the vapor polish it looks really cool having smoky transparent ABS prints...
