Re: Over Packaging
Essentially it's surrounded by a low-plastic bubble wrap.
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz

Re: Over Packaging
I got a ruggedized(run it over with a truck) laptop off ebay once that had the expanding foam type packaging in a box 5 times bigger than the laptop. I just didn't understand why they did it that way. If it wasn't for the power adapter, they could have just stuck the shipping label to the top of the screen and it would have made the trip just fine. I think the dude just wanted to play with the foam machine...
Never do anything you don't want to have to explain to the paramedics.
Re: Over Packaging
Be happy it wasn't packed tight with those little foam peanuts that the SeeMeCNC guys seem to love so much. I _still_ have peanuts left over from the v1 Indiegogo kit I got in January of 2013!

Re: Over Packaging
It's better than being completely encapsulated by one of those expanding foam pillows
