Power Supply clean up

Post by Hydrolove »

In anticipation of my Max kit arriving on Tuesday, I prepped my upgrade power supply by removing all the extra cabling. Wow, that's a lot of extra crap! I have 12AWG on the 12V rail and 16AWG for the 5V rail, The switch wire was left as is. I didn't bother bringing out the 3.3V. I verified output at 12.2 and 5.02V. I have a feeling I'm going to get carried away with mods (why do I always do that......?)

Looks nice! Keep the pics coming and be sure to start a build thread! I few tips: Upgrade the RAMBO fan with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NQ ... UTF8&psc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Flip the screws and the nuts on the printing head. Screw heads on bottom and nuts on top. makes life WAY easier later. Grab something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300916001666?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to do your calibration with once you have the PEEK fan printed and can print a mount for it. Also look into these guys, they are a worth every penny and if you google around about them you will see how much EVERYONE loves them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rostock-Damper- ... 4d22660ea4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Also highly suggest the fast connectors the manual speaks about. You WILL have to take things one and off of your printing head and it DOES make life way easier to use the connectors. OK.. Just my 2 cents worth after finishing up my MAX a few weeks ago. be sure to start a build thread with lots of pics and hit up myself or the boards if you hit any snags or have any questions! Check, check, and check. I received the dampers and the fan yesterday and have a dial indicator already. I am going for the screw in thermistor and 40W cartridge heater for the hot end also, so I have a few thing waiting for the kit to arrive (Tuesday according to the shipping info).

Glad I got rid of the wires, too. Looks much cleaner:
