Blew up my new duetwifi

Post by wguibas »

Just blew up the T0 input on the duetwifi. My machine has the HE280 hotend and I forgot the connections for T0 are keyed to provide ground to the accelerometer board. 12V backfed to the analog pin on the 3.3v atmel chip and the input in no longer. Just a warning to others.

There's a SMD fuse on the Duet wifi, I think F1, near the processor. You may be able to desolder and replace it, as it's intended to protect the processor from that very set of issues.

Thank you, didn't think it was the fuse, but it was. When it first happened the bed temp was still working so I thought I blew the input not the fuse. Still a little puzzled about it.

I don't know how it works either, but I suspect nothing short of wizardry from Dave and Tony.
