Halp! Max v2 won't heat, shows "DEF" for temp

I just cleaned old glue off the print bed, but I thought I had been gentle. Now when I start it up it shows:

NOZ: def . BED: def
Error:Printer set into dry run mode until restart!
FW Version: 0.92.2
Automatic Heater Shutdown in Xm XX

Anything I can do to diagnose what is up?
Some other threads mentioned it might be a blown mofset, or a misbehaving wire... not sure how to tell.

Check to make sure you didn't accidentally damage the thermistor on the bed. That would cause the "def" reading. Note that either one of the thermistors in the nozzle or the bed going bad will cause /both/ displays to show "def".

Mine did that turns out I had a bad connection I ended up upgrading my connection to a quick connector. Took me forever to figure this out. Hope this helps

Those JST connectors are pretty handy. :)

My printer had that issue - Both NOZ: and BED: would display DEF randomly. I installed a new hot end and it had the same issue. The connectors were fine at the hot-end, all the way to the RAMBo, where I found that the terminal itself had pulled off the board. The terminal pins were still soldered on, so I pushed it back, and that fixed the hot-end temp reading.

It looks like the terminal pulled loose when I removed the board a while ago, and finally worked itself loose while moving the printer recently. Something to check next time I do maintenance on the PCB.

Good luck, I hope you fixed this and your troublemaker is back up and running.
