infill and walls not connecting

Post by OC33 »

Hi all, have a Rostock Max V2 with ballcup arm and carriage upgrade. Have been dealing with a printing issue that causes the wall and infill not to connect.Have already calibrated level and H. radius as well as stiffening of the hot end/platform. Have also tried changing the arm length in the EEPROM to both 90.8 and 91.06 but still dont have a fix, any help is appreciated.

thank for your time.

below is a link to picture of the rough print quality and separation of infill and walls.

What slicer are you using?

It's not an arm length issue - that would result in an overall dimension problem.

The first thing I notice is that you may be printing too hot - knock it back by 5C or so and see if you get a better result. It won't fix the perimeter/infill issue, but you'll end up with a less "melted" looking part.

Check the fit of the arms on the balls - the arms should fall with gravity and do so quickly. You might have one or more that are binding. Make sure you check the balls/arm fit on both the carriage and the effector. Letting the arm go from horizontal should result it acting like a pendulum.

Do the carriages wobble at all?

I would suggest a 25mm x 5mm cube for doing testing - it's a fast print.
