Max v2 is Back in Black
Max v2 is Back in Black
It looks like there is a black option for the Rostock Max V2. The white looks very nice, but I would like to see what the black rig looks like before ordering a kit if at all possible. Not looking for anything fancy, just hoping someone could snap a quick pic or two and post it if you have on assembled somewhere at your shop.
Please and Thanks,
Lanty

If you happen to get pictures, please post them. I'd like to see prior to ordering, as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

- Thanks for your interest. We don't have a black demo machine at the moment? We will build one shortly. Have a look at the Orion and you can see the difference in colors, as well as the Rostock MAX v1's, you can find them on the forum too
Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
Already ordered mine in Black, but they will probably have one built up before I even get my kit! If not, I will definitely be posting pictures.
Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
I decided to get white because if you pick black, its 100% black.. all of it!! I may not be able to find it..

Yea, but it would be nice to see a picture of one. I would never purchase anything without knowing what it looks like.theverant wrote:That's why you trick it out with LEDsOzy wrote:I decided to get white because if you pick black, its 100% black.. all of it!! I may not be able to find it..

Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
That's a beautiful machine. Excellent work!
The guys do have a black one at the shop (saw it in person at MRRF), and they mentioned needing to post the pictures. So the "official" ones are definitely coming soon. Until then, cgbobio has done a beautiful job on his.

I think that machine would look neat if you replaced the top & bottom acrylic covers with white (or red!) instead of the smoked.

Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
cgbobio, when you have the time could you measure from the bottom of the printer to the top of the spool holder?
I need to see if it will fit into the space I have planned for it.

Someone else asked me for this as well, sorry I didn't see your post until now.Eaglezsoar wrote:cgbobio, when you have the time could you measure from the bottom of the printer to the top of the spool holder?

V2 measurements
Base diameter side to side is apx 16.75" (outside X axis to outside Y axis) at it's widest
Base depth is 17.5" front to back including LCD (15.75" without LCD)
Height with supplied rubber feet to top of melamine is 37.25"
Height with top thumb screws installed is 37.5"
Height with spool holder installed 42.5" (no spool on holder though)
As for mods, I was thinking of getting some nice blue neon or LEDs to light up the corners behind the plexi... also working on some belt tensioners and getting my problem resolved with my hot end sensor defect warning in repetier.
Let me know if you need any other measurements or images.

The leds will look cool! I would stay away from neon, it has a shorter life, high power requirements and is outdated compared to LED technology.
Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
Happy to help out! Thanks for the advice on LEDs, I was leaning towards them anyway, but always nice to get others opinions. I am shooting for a blue that is close to the LCD screen so it all has that glow about it...

If you get that plexiglass lit up the way you want, you got to send a picture. That would have to look really slick!cgbobio wrote:Happy to help out! Re: Max v2 is Back in Black
Definitely will have to show it off!
