Extrusion width.

Post by Mac The Knife »

I see Matterslice allows setting the extrusion width for the first layer, but what about the rest?

I was also wondering the same thing.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

If it uses Cura engine as has been mentioned here (Though who knows what version), I believe it sets the extrusion width to the nozzle width, or possibly some small fraction larger.
Being able to increase it for the base layer is a big win, the narrow first layer extrusion width, makes it difficult sometimes to get a decent first layer out of Cura.
It's one of the reasons (though certainly not the only one) Cura produces better prints than Slic3r which does some bizarre calculation and ends up with a default extrusion width much large than is optimal.
