The Midwest RepRap fest is the 3D printing event of the year! The RepRap community from around the world converges to hang out, print, show off, and have an all around good time. Check out the pictures from past years' events: https://www.facebook.com/midwestreprapfest/photos
Thanks to the awesome sponsors that we get each year, it's completely FREE to attend!
Many companies like SeeMeCNC, LulzBot, BondTech, TrickLaser, Taulman, E3D, B3 Innovations, LittleRP, MakerJuice Labs, Muve3D and many, many more come each year to show off their products and answer your questions. Many companies make launch announcements at the show, sell early beta's, seek feedback on prototypes, etc. It's a neat opportunity to collaborate with the coolest companies in the biz.
Here's a great article from Hackaday on what you can expect at the show https://goo.gl/jNIkPK and here's where you can read all of the Hackaday articles tagged with MRRF: https://hackaday.com/tag/mrrf/ Also, check out their panorama from last year's MRRF (which is amazing in high res): https://hackadaycom.files.wordpress.com ... norama.jpg
So anyway, mark your calendars, like and share the event page, reserve your space, consider making it all possible by being a sponsor, and make plans to make a pilgrimage to MRRF!!!

Where's the sign-up sheet? Need to get my name on the list.mhackney wrote:Ha! It seems like I am going to get a lot of coffee, beer and scotch at MRRF!
Does the age of the scotch help bump one up the list?

you should get a booth. In fact demand a free one so all can come and awe the mhackney and kiss your ring.

I registered this week and it looks like I just need to show up with a 25' extension cord and power strip.
I also put my name in to give a presentation. Any requests?

Give a presentation on the superiority of delta style printers
Re: MRRF 2017 Has a date!! March 25-26, 2017
Looking at the social media it seems there is quite an impressive list of 3d print personalities that are planning on showing up this year. Maybe SeeMeCNC can have a post with a list of signed up sponsors (like they had in graphic form in previous years) and a "scheduled to attend" list.

Yes. Take video of the presentation, and put it on YouTube. MRRF is a little too far for me to drive.mhackney wrote:I also put my name in to give a presentation. Any requests?
Questions? Ask in a thread - PMs are off.

Presentation is complete, car is packed with 4 printers, a tool box, a big box of filament and parts and what-nots, my Surface 4 (yes Gene, I joined the dark side last week. It rocks though). And I'm waiting for my buddy from Boston to get off work and stop by tonight.
I'm thinking maybe a better approach would be to do a screen capture with voice over to post? I really don't think live video of me standing in a dark room is interesting! What does everyone think? Topic is Iterative Design to a 3D Printed Fly Fishing Reel. I use my reel as a vehicle to talk about truly rapid design-prototyping.
Look me up if you are the MRRF!
