Stepper wiring mismatch?

I've got OEM steppers from a V3 kit, and one new one attached to an extruder.
1) want to control them all properly via DUET WiFi board.
2) need to attach a connector to the wires on the new one; wire colors don't match

SO, I opened them up to compare wiring + main gear.
They look the same, just slightly different gear styles, and wire colors:

OEM extruder

LDM 1

LDM 2

They both have 50 teeth and 6 contact points per pole.
Can I safely assume that IF they are both 1.8° steppers,
AND,
IF I do this connector/wiring match:
G BL R Y OEM
G BL BK R LDM extruder

THEN I'm doing it correctly and not _likely_ to fry stuff?

Tearing the motors apart isn't a good idea.

That being said, identifying the coils is easy. Spin motor with your fingers to see what it's like. Then twist two wires together and spin the motor again. If it's harder to do, that's one coil and the other two wires are the other coil. When you power it up and it goes backwards, just power it off, flip the connector around and plug it back in.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to determine which wires go to what using a volt/ohmeter, so I felt compelled to do the deed before connecting them all up to the freshly unpacked Duet!

Would you agree that if I match the wiring to the new connector as per wire:coil layout on the OEM stepper that I'll at least be %50 of the way (depending on +/-)?

Put the wires back in the order they were originally. If the motor goes backwards, flip the connector around.

I assume it still holds true with the Duet,,,,, Don't plug, or unplug the motor wires while the board is powered up.
