I've got a Rostock MAX with a chirpy extruder and filament starved prints. It has worked great for a few prints but it always had a skip or two mostly at the beginning layers.
Now, it seems like any pressure whatsoever makes it skip.
I'm using Makerbot True Blue PLA, with the hotend at 210 for the tests, and I can only do 50mm at 5mm/s without a chirp, anything higher makes it skip. 60mm/s is nothing but chirps.
I have taken the hot end apart to see if there's any jams but everything seems normal and clean.
I'm about to take the extruder apart to see if there's anything visible. Any ideas about what I should be looking, for or tests to run? Thanks!
Rostock MAX 3.2 extruder skipping
Re: Rostock MAX 3.2 extruder skipping
You might want to bump the temp up 5C and see how it goes. The skipping should lessen - keep bumping 2C at a time after that and see how it goes.
Test cubes are great for this kind of testing.
