Repetier firmware compile fail

Post by Chrissi »

very tired, patience short.
Tried to recalibrate and then got to point where you change settings in configuration.h and go to upload it.
compile give an endless string of errors such as:

SDCard.cpp.o:C:\Users\Randi\AppData\Local\Temp\build2145459656099637118.tmp/SDCard.cpp:83: first defined here
Repetier1\SDCard.cpp.o: In function `SDCard::mount()':
C:\Users\Randi\Documents\Arduino\libraries\Repetier1/SDCard.cpp:105: multiple definition of `SDCard::mount()'
SDCard.cpp.o:C:\Users\Randi\AppData\Local\Temp\build2145459656099637118.tmp/SDCard.cpp:105: first defined here
Repetier1\SDCard.cpp.o: In function `SDCard::automount()':
C:\Users\Randi\Documents\Arduino\libraries\Repetier1/SDCard.cpp:49: multiple definition of `SDCard::automount()'
SDCard.cpp.o:C:\Users\Randi\AppData\Local\Temp\build2145459656099637118.tmp/SDCard.cpp:49: first defined here
Repetier1\SDCard.cpp.o:(.bss.tempLongFilename+0x0): multiple definition of `tempLongFilename'

it appears to be starting with complaints about SD related issues and ends with UIdisplay issues.
I gave up on it and downloaded a fresh version from GitHub (guess what, new display layout, that freaked me, also last one to upload it had the Y axis motor reversed, thank you.)
So yes it compiled with my new radius setting etc, loaded the RAMBO with it , got the gift of a reversed Y axis motor and went back and fixed that, then I go to load it back to RAMBO and guess what? I get the compile errors again.
I really need this working to get parts made for a deadline. Fun meter pegged on zero.

Chrissi, what version of the Arduino IDE are you using? All the work I've done with the code has been done using the 1.0.5 version, so there may have been breaking changes made to newer versions.

The inverted Y direction is due to the stepper on the v2 being mounted opposite the others.

Thanks Gene,

When I started it up after loading the revised firmware the Y leg came straight down on G28. I checked it against the prior version that I had originally been running on and it was not inverted on Y.

I have been using Arduino 105 r2 from the beginning on this printer.

But I am rested and have more patience now ;)

I've loaded freshly downloaded Repetier firmware on to ARDUINO IDE on both my laptops now and neither will compile. Printer will not work without it. Same errors on both machines

running a system restore on old VAIO laptop. Only thing recently added or changed was to add USB drivers for 4D Systems intelligent display module. Though it uses a display and uSD card and Arduino so I cannot figure out why that could be in conflict with regular Arduino activities. Grasping at straws here as in this worked with printer before, what has changed?

Well, it was a good intention, system won't restore.

If you can wait until Wednesday, we can do a Google Hangout and I can see _exactly_ what is happening and what steps you're taking - we'll get this sucker solved one way or another.

OK, ...Google Hangout?
I hope I get it working using Randi's laptop before then but that will not solve these other two which are the primary ones.
So, looking forward to Wednesday, thanks!

Thanks Gene, I need to look at why there is an issue with the directory structure like that, does not make sense. I have written a lot of sketches and not seen this problem.
Just very happy to have my printer back.

Have same (by thread name) problem, ArduinoIDE fails to compile, saing something about missing ")" between "const" and "prog_char" in file "ui.cpp".

I think i have solved it by adding "#define prog_char char" line in that file. It have been compiled successfully, i hope it will work too, without firing my printer :D
3D printing is magic!

Sorry my engrish :-/ you could PM me in Russian.
