Greetings, group. I got an ORION at the Maker's Faire and have been running through the PLA that came with it. Prints are not the greatest yet. I imagine there is a bit of tinkering needed to "dial in" all the parameters. Presently using painter's tape on the glass which seems to work for PLA so far but I plan to move to the Auqa Net hair spray soon.
I would very much be interested in meeting with any locals to swap experiences and discuss all things 3D. I am in the San Jose area...

The Orion is a fine printer and the one I have prints very well and I use it almost exclusively now.
We would be happy to answer any questions you have and as time goes along you will be able to help
new users with their questions.
I can't help hook you up with any local user groups but perhaps someone reading this from the San Jose area can help
