Bed Level Calibration Issue

Post by mlapaglia »

I'm having a bad time getting the bed calibrated on my max v2. Following the manual, at each of the pillars the nozzle is the same distance from the bed. When printing a test circle at each of the pillars the filament is being pressed into the bed correctly, but between the pillars either it's too close or too far away from the bed.

(the string going towards the center is when I killed the print)

I've been trying to get this right for two days without success.
horizontal radius is at 128.650mm
z max length is at 391.323mm

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

That looks familiar!

I've got a ridiculously long thread in the troubleshooting section about this ailment:
http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4868

TL,DR:
Set yourself up with a dial indicator so that you can measure the height of your bed in several spots and make precise adjustments. After leveling my endstop screws to match the wooden frame, I put paper and aluminum foil shims between the Onyx and the snowflake to get the shape of the bed to match the movement of the effector platform. It's controversial whether this fixes the cause or the effect, but it got me printing again.

Good luck!

Well that stinks.. I saw this video and got excited seeing I built my printer last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-92PSNINO0

Uploaded the new firmware, calibrating now to see if anything changed for me.
